I was able to take a quick tour of Edge Pads the other day. I like to thank Aaron for taking his time to show me how his pads are made. Aaron was able to explain why the Edge 2000 system is superior to the traditional backing plate. I scares me to know a standard pad can delaminate(sp?) during operation.

I was able to see foam and wool pads being made during the tour. The machines computer controlled and lazer guided. During the tour they were making black wool pads and white foam pads. They also making 4" pads, which I looking forward to....hint hint AG.

They were not making any ShMitt's, but Aaron did show me how they are made and the different variations of them. I was lucky enough to receive one from Aaron...thanks!!!!!!:awesome:

Aaron also showed me improved plastic plates for the Edge 2000 system. They are stronger and engineered better than previous version.

Once people open up and see why the Edge 2000 system and ShMitt are superior, I think Aaron's company will take off. Aaron explained to me, he only sells to the chemical companies that make the waxes and in turn they sell them to their distributors.

Thanks Again Aaron for your time

Ken
PS sorry no pics

Aaron and EDGE are to me, one of the most innovative companies out there. They do their homework and listen to the consumer. They are always looking to make a detailer's life easier and more productive.

I wonder how many hours sleep Aaron gets?

LOL!

:iagree:

He doesn't try to make the same old products everyone else does. He strives to make different and innovative products.

His only problem is getting people to step away from what they know, and try something new. A tough task indeed!

:iagree: with all above. The man (Aaron) stands behind all his products!

A sign of good customer service....standing behind your product. Class act.

i like the shmitts and will continue to buy them, mine is starting to rip around the opening, but does anybody else like to use it without putting their hand inside? mitts always felt weird to me personally so many times i just hold the shmitt and wash, works great that way too.
i also like the edge pad system but i think i might send a PM to the guys at edge on a recommendation on how to better the system

well personally i dont like the adapter button...its supposed to be a quick release but the thing is always a ##### to get off and hard to get on most times as well... not like its a big deal but i think it could use some rethinking. and a few times ive tried to push the button and nearly burned my fingers, it can get pretty hot under use

That I will aree with you 100% as I did burn the crap out of myself 2 days ago and it is a bit difficult to depress the button. I had to use a mf towel and even then since it was a bit difficult to press it down that mf towel was getting nice a warm fast lol. That said if it is part of the locking mechanism that keeps the pad from flying off, then I will just deal with it....

yea its still a superior system and its not enough to stop me from using it but i just think the adapter could use some rethinking to improve upon the edge system even more so

Definitely would buy one you could hold by hand.

Would also like the wave to be on both sides.

I wonder when they will expand the product line to include the Cyclo?

id assume because they are always trying to make new innovative stuff to help detailers do a better job and the cyclo is getting more and more popular, and edge pads can enhance the ability of it so i hear.havent actually used the cyclo personally yet... they need to take the opportunities such as the cyclo machine and use those opportunities.

by the way i take back everything i previously said about the quick release. i made another thread baout it a while ago, and it basically came down to user error, i was using the system improperly.once aaron told me how to do it properly over the phone, it was an eye opening experience, the system is much better than i previously thought!

Aye, don't remember exactly but from what I hear you should:

1) Install the pad evenly onto the adapter with both hands on either side
2) Buff....
3) Take the pad off simply by placing your hands on the backside of the pad (closest side to you) and pressing off the pad.

Not sure exactly, but I think someone has a write up of the proper usage!
