Mike, I have a customer whose car gets egged every year on Halloween. What would be a good product to protect her car?
Thanks Dave

Hi Dave,

Kind of like others posted, the only thing that will protect a car's clearcoat or single stage finish from being egged is a garage or a car cover.

The impact of the shell hitting the paint will create what I call imprint chips or impact chips. Just did a Google search for these terms and added my name a lo and behold I have an article on this with a great pictures showing they type of damage the egg shell does to car paint upon impact.

Imprint Chips - Chips in the paint caused by a thrown egg

So recommend to your customer to find a way to get their car out of direct exposure to the nefarious elements of our society.

It will turn you car into a Rust Bucket

Yes it will....I read it on an internet Forum and also on Answers.com

I read another of your posts that said you saw a pile/ puddle of rust under your truck? Why would this happen in a garage and not outside? I would consider garaging to be the safest way to protect your car and prolong good paint.

Don't believe everything you read online. Both of my trans ams have been garaged since day 1. That is why, at nearly 13 years old each, they both still look & smell like new.

I had a brand new car get egged within the first week of ownership. "Senior prank". Black car. This was many years ago but I don't think I've ever been so mad in my life. I ended up putting a sticker over it, as it was on the rear tailgate area and didn't look out of place.

Have them move or put a rental car in their driveway for the night.

Yep this happened to me this year left the imprint that Mike shows in his thread. Only ways that I could think of to protect it would have already been stated. The car cover and the garage.
