Hey there,
I’m in the market for a water blower. Ive seen all the vids etc. but I’m still on the fence. Money isn’t the issues. From what Ive read the EGO blower can be extremely loud. I’m not sure the neighbors or my wife would be onboard. But on the other hand, it’s more versatile. The master blaster looks like it can get in tighter area’ s looks like it works well.
I only want to buy this once.

Can i get an option/recommendation please.
Thank you
Jim

Ego all the way. No cords or hoses plus can move around the car so much faster. Haven't touched by Master Blaster in years. Plus you can use the Ego for other stuff around the house.

Thanks. How does the EGO performance compare to the MasterBlaster?

I love my "blaster" but a cordless is nice. I see Blaster is 229 CFMs, EGOs smallest is 480 all the way up to 765. Don't forget a smaller "tube" is available for EGO. Not sure the specific models the shorty tube fits.

Ego.

I got the 615cfm model.

It's shocking how much air it puts out.
It's not as loud as you might think

EGO has more than enough power. I have the 765 and with the 5.0ah battery it came with I can dry multiple vehicles on a single charge. Worth every penny.

i had a master blaster years ago and sold it. IMO, they (metro) need to improve on features that some of the other blowers already have. a self expanding hose, and twist and lock connection points are two main things (like the pic below). drying is the last stage of the wash and cordless is the way to go (would be my choice). no dragging around a hose, worrying about tipping over the dryer and/or smacking the hose against the paint, and also storing it after...

Thank you all for your opinions. It’s helping me lean more towards the blower. I’m thinking EGO 615 I guess.
Thanks again

There are some differences depending when it was manufactured (before or after 2019) that can impact the stubby nozzle fitment. stubby nozzle co makes 2 different nozzles to fit old and new generation blowers.

the EGO 765 is pretty loud. i use earplugs or noise cancelling earbuds (which are ok if i'm not holding it that close to my ears).

Is it loud enough that the neighbors may complain?
I live in a typical track home neighborhood where the houses fairly close to each other.

I have the ego 650. Works nice, not that loud. Pushes more air i think than my gas echo blower.

I still prefer my gas echo for most chores

6 Best Cordless Leaf Blowers of 2023 - Reviewed

Ego Power+ LB6504 (650 cfm):
"Noise: The Ego registered 92 decibels on the lowest setting and was the loudest blower we tried. The added noise is one more reason to consider the more powerful and quieter LB7654."

According to them, the EGO 765 is actually quieter (86 db)

I use both types, an EGO 765 and a Big Boi Pro4 -

Both have their pros and cons and which I use will depend on what I need.

For example, the dedicated blower allows you to be more thorough and is more efficient at drying more intricate areas like door jambs, grills or vents. But, you need to factor in setting up/packing away as well as cord and hose management. I tend to use the Big Boi when I'm needing a more thorough drying or when I'm not time limited. In theory, you could achieve 98 to 100% dryness using a dedicated machine.

The EGO on the other hand is a grab and go proposition, no plugging in and packing away, so a time saver. But you need to accept it won't get the car to 99% dry, lets say 90%, or
be as efficient at doing trickier areas. I find the larger tube of a leaf blower doesn't have the same level of focus of a dedicated blower, something that is noticed on grills and wheels.

As mentioned, both have their place. I would choose which would suit your overall drying methods.

Get the 765. I had the 670 1st and was a big difference. It is loud but no louder than my rigid vac.

Get a stubby nozzle from Stubby Nozzle Co or the Apex Aire from Obsessed.

I like that it is cordless. I can take to car wash if needed. Will pretty much blow out where ever you need.

I agree with DFB on jambs and maybe grill but for wheels it’s my weapon of choice and gets them completely dry.

If surface is coated it dries completely but if not I will follow up with a PFM if needed.

Only dislike is holding over head when doing SUV. Little heavy but not major.

I have a Greenworks 80V blower. I decided on that one because I'm in the Greenworks battery universe. It works great with the Stubby nozzle/blowerband set-up.

It is a bit loud and a bit ungainly for use overhead. I also use it as a regular blower around the house.

A dedicated blower would be one more thing I would have to store in a garage that doesn't have any more storage space.

I also have the hand-held Sidekick which I've had for 20 years. I mostly use it for the engine compartments.
