Great job! The engine bay looks much better now :)

Engine bay looks great. Be uber careful using any water under the hood. Newer cars with sophisticated electronics don't like getting wet. Damp micro fibers and detailing juice and a little time can really make things under the hood shine! Phil

Good job! Reminds me I need to do mine.

Blasting high pressure water into a fuse box can cause problems, but I don't find water to be much of a hazard under the hood, as long as it's used wisely.

Engines offer the best before/after pics ;) The difference is always massive ;)

Thanks guys. In all actuality the newer cars are less likely to have any issues with water under the hood. Things are sealed up better than on later models vehicles.

My process:

Pressure washed the entire bay, then sprayed APC diluted 4:1 and agitated with a brush and let dwell. Pressure wash rinse, start engine for about 60 seconds to let the heat of the engine help dissipate the remaining water, then applied CG Silk Shine and worked in with a MF applicator and also used a 2" angled paint brush to brush the into the crevices where I couldn't get with the MF applicator. I have had great results with the Silk Shine. Dries non tacky, doesn't collect dust and debris, leaves a nice oem finish.

I have done plenty of engine bays with no issues. Just use a light water pressure and try to avoid any open electronics and alternator. Any alternator I can I will wrap a plastic grocery bag around it and anything else I see as a possible issue.

Use some discretion and common sense and you will be fine!
