A recent TIME magazine article discussed way to save the impact on the environment...one of which being the use of the shipping peanuts. I would love to see a way of reducing or eliminating these things al together but I can understand the reason for companies wanting to use them. Is there a better way for AG to ship using paper pacing rather than the styrofoam peanuts? Can we send them back to AG for recycling?

That is a very good idea, Paradog, but what would be an alternative reasonable to AG's budget? Those blow up bag thingies? Crumpled newspaper you could chuck in the recycle bin?

So how do styrofoam peanuts have an impact on the environment? If you are talking about reacycling them - that's where they go, in recycle bin. As far as using newspaper for shipping, they will need more paper, which again goes back to the environment.

How about they fill up the boxes with fertilizer? That way I can throw it on my yard when I get my stuff :righton:

LOL That way your box of AG products will REALLY be full of good sh!t :D

About the environment. I seen where the Supreme Court has rulled that CO2
is a pollutant. They want to control or limit how much CO2 gasses are emited from anything that produces CO2. If I'm wrong with any of this, someone please say something. Since CO2 is a pollutant, that makes everyone breathing a polluter. In a couple years how much will I pay in fines since I'm a polluter? Trees turn CO2 into oxygen, right? Lauren, your the teacher, you should know a hellva lot more about this than me. Its hard for me to remember grade school at this point. What's your thoughts on this? Can you see sensors at every opening in our bodies  to collect data? Then you have to download it, and send it in to big brother at the end of the month. Get a bill (fine) the following week. If I recall the 70's right, it was global cooling. Sure, I had to wear a winter coat all summer long. It's all the the falt of the US too. All the other countries are soooooooo strick about pollution.

From What I hear the Kotya agreement would only affect the tempreture 1/10 degree an cost the USA $350 billion for a maybe? The shipping peanuts I take them to the little brown store(mailbox USA) they are happy to accept them) . Here in Michigan even with recycling the recyclers only by law have to recycle once a month. Rest well I think it goes to the Land fill. Whats up with Cal? Think of it they sue the AUto manufactures for Co2 when 99.9% of all Autos sold contribute to CO2. California allows unsafe vehicles that pollute sounds political to me. I allways vote against the incumbants.

i save the packing peanuts and reuse them...one time our pet pitbull discovered the bag...looked like it snowed in the living room...glad he had fun....

There is no doubt that the use of peanuts is a economic issue but I was thinking out loud about alternatives or ways to reduce or reuse. Styrofoam is a known environmental polutant, so why not find a better way?

Ideas for peanuts:
1. give them to a local shipping store for reuse
2. ?

2. Send them to my wife for her E-bay stuff. (she buys a ton of them) I'm not joking, that would save me money! Dang I sound like Mr.Crabs from Sponge Bob.

Send them to Washington and tell the politicians to.......:D . Is there a right answer to these questions? The past 7 years I've heard nothing good about anything. Other than Bush did it. Kotya cost the USA 350 billion?, more like it will cost you and me 350 billion in taxes. Add that to the 400 billion the Democrats want to add in taxes. I think we should send our paychecks to Washington and they could give us what "THEY" think we need from our check. I just got a brain storm. I'm going to write to Washington and ask for money ( @$1,000,000,000,000.00 ) to do a study on recycling styrofoam. :D Wait and see what my next AG order looks like.:D Don't take any of what I'm saying wrong. I don't have any problems with recycling at all. We all should do what we can. But as long as man (and women) are on the planet there will be pollution of some kind. We should limit things that affect the enviroment. I too take my peanuts to the local mail room. I get some change for them. The only problem is it takes gas to drive there and that causes pollution. You're back to square one. I remember hearing Cal. wants to sue the car manufactures. Does Luaren know she has to sell her vette? Then you'll hear she's having trouble getting the swirls off her red Schwinn. :D You hear that Luaren? Back to pedal power.:D The problem with bikes are, you pedal and pedal, heavy breathing, more CO2 comes out, pollution. So where does it end. God help us.

Sparkie, I was going to send you the peanuts I have, but I can't.:( The mail is moved by trucks and planes, you know what planes do with too much fuel while in flight, dump it in the air, they all use gas, gas pollutes, so I don't want to help to pollute anything. :( This is a catch 22

:D Funny stuff!
Mt. St. Helens put out more Co2 when it erupted on May 18, 1980 then all the cars around the world that started in 1900 untill now. Food for thought!

Sure, but who gets taxed on the eruption? Mother earth?:D I don't know for sure but, I think there's been 5-6 ice ages. Who or what has caused them to melt and return? It's must be Henry Fords falt. The way Gore talks we have a "global emergency". The key word is "we", of course it doesn't apply to "him". He flys around in a Gulf Stream, his house uses 2-3 times the electric of the average house. I wonder how his electric is made, coal, gas, hydro? He pollutes more than the averege person and it's our falt, we need to stop driving and walk, change the light bulbs to the 10.00 each ones like Hillary, and stop beathing. Sure, I'll get started right now.

Nature finds a way. its caled meteor, done before, happens again.

On topic: by making the peanuts in a material that could be recycled that would help.

Those lines came out kinda strange in the same post.

By the way: if you put the age of mother earth down to 24h, the modern humans have been around for?

One and a half sec (1.30sec) Dinosaurs was around for 6 hours. Your continent (america) was populated around 12.000 years ago.

Man i get caryed away sometimes......sorry

It's my understanding when Al Gore was in office he OK new coal, gas electric plants and denied nuclear emergency. Which is cleaner? Nuclear!

Nuclear. But what to do with the spent fuel rods!Just ask Good Al Gore? Did he not claim he invented the internet? Nickel Cadmium is in the paint used on the roads as well as batteries. This is not a good for the environment or anything living, 95% of of nickel cadmium pollution is caused by the paint on the road. Goverment caused pollution 90% The governed 10%. All environmental Legislation is to control our 10%.

True one eruption from a Volcano created more pollution then all the Auto's combined since their inception

Back to the peanuts! I take mine back to the Brown store on the way to grocery store. I belive that saves gas!
Gore invented the internet! (he claims)
I think Al should come clean an say he invented them
