Hello, anyone in here tried Mr. Clean Magic Erasers on door panels, vinyl/leather and other plastic pieces? They work well on grime on the vinyl and plastic doors and on the center console. On dirty leather seats I typically start with a cleaner and boars hair brush and then follow up with an eraser. Then apply dressing.

Thoughts?

If you do not know what they are, here is a link.

I have used Mr. Clean Magic Erasers but only in special situations. They are actually very abrasive so be careful when using them on any vinyl or plastics, I would just lightly rub it with little to no force at all. I wouldn't use them on leather at all, if its coated leather theres a good chance it will remove the coating. I'm sure other guys will chime in with more advice.

I've used them in the past on stains clear coated wheels with no problem

I use them on badly scuffed plastics all the time. Use them wet with light pressure and you will be fine.

I am not going to lie to you and say I've never used them on leather. Because I have! That said, I only use them on extremely dirty leather when nothing else is working. And I use extremely light pressure.

They work good on leather :)

hi everyone iam a detailer i have tip for you if your car has those door molding that are not painted if you every get wax on them i find useing a eraser works really well i have been useing it for a long time now. so that my detailing tip for every one have a good now.

I've used them on uncoated/unpainted window molding trim and they work awesome. Restores the trim to a nice, deep black again and then I coated the trim with Opticoat to prevent further issues.

they have their uses but I have seen posts where people have done damage with them.

They usually have no problems the first few times they use them on their leather but once they rub the coating off then the problems start. by then, it's too late to do anything, except redye/coat the leather...

I have use them to get sap off windows and even paint (before polish, wax)

All the time. I've had great luck cleaning soft-touch interior trim with them. My last car had a bunch of grit down in the crevices of the soft-touch sections on the door and dash and the eraser took it right out without damaging anything. And you can usually find a house brand for cheap.
