Hello I just wanted to know before finally ordering a DA which I have chosen to be Griots about if they have ever had issues with the Liftetime warranty and their terms and conditions. Another thing would be if you knew if they had a bad batch as im just making sure but I have read in another thread that a couple people were having issues with theirs. Finally is do they 100% guarantee it as if they were the ones that sold it if I Buy it from here, Autogeeks. This comes from someone posting that if purchased thorugh theri website they cover everything as opposed to another seller that they charge one way shipping??? Thank-You for your time.

I have never had a problem with mine so I don't know first hand how the warranty process works. I do know that it doesn't matter if you buy it from Autogeek, they (Griot's) will honor the warranty. I don't know if this is different if you buy from a private seller.

Also, I have seen a few posts that people have mentioned having to replace it and it was pretty much a no hassle experience. The only complaints I can remember seeing were people that were upset that something happened and they didn't have a backup machine.

Your in good hands with All State, I mean Auto Geek.:xyxthumbs:

if you buy it from an authorized seller and a problem arises, most likely you should go through who ever you bought it from. otherwise if the seller doesn't want to warranty it, i'm sure Griots would take care of you as long as you have the receipt/paperwork, but you may want to call to confirm...

You need to be an educated consumer, when buying merchandise, etc. The reason I say this is I purchased (in my younger years), a product that carried a lifetime free replacement. Problem was that their definition of lifetime was that the life expectation of the product was 5 years, after that repairs were my responsiibility. Ask the questions before buying or obtain the literature (warranty) information in print.

Griots means lifetime, not expected life of product. They are a great company and will stand behind their products.

I would buy it from Autogeek or directly from Griots. I know those people will take care of it. Who knows if you buy from Amazon or somewhere else.

I'll let you know here shortly. I bought a Griots 6in around Christmas time and its already fried on me. Every time it comes on now it has this weird electrical burn smell to it and sounds like a weed eater powering up and down when in use. Has less than 30 hrs of use on it.

I had one break and Autogeek and Griots were simply awesome. A new DA was shipped to my house in a matter of days and UPS came to pick up the broken one.

I would not hesitate to get the GG one bit. They stand by their product and make things right if something goes wrong.

I've had no issues getting mine repaired but here is a clip from an email between myself and a group of other pro detailers....

well, after 7 polishers in a year, I am no longer going to be getting any fixed and warrantied! Just spoke with the guy this morning. I had sent one in two weeks ago and still haven't received a replacement so I called them up. This is what he told me

"it looks like you are using them for professional use, the machine is not a professional machine, its meant for the hobbiest at best."
"so you're telling me that its not a profession machine and isn't supposed to be used multiple times a week?"
"exactly, you're using it outside its work scope."
"ok, so i have my second one that died sitting in my garage, I need to send that one in and get my money back then since I thought what I was buying was a pro machine designed to be used"
"ok that's fine, send it it and we will take care of it and refund you the money"

So once I get, use, and the new machine breaks down, I will no long be using the griots DA!!! Well that sucks! I told him i loved the power upgrade over the PC and though it was a much better machine overall, but they keep dying on me. He sounded kind of shocked to hear that and was please with that comment.

I have another machine that I am looking at getting from canada so hopefully it works out better!

We have found that Griots does a great job honoring the life time warranty. I would not be worried about them standing behind it.

I had one about a year and the screws fell out the front. Called AG and had a replacement that week. No problems on the new one so far, going on 2 years.

+1 3' Polisher. New polisher was sent before return of the defective one.

I had an older Porte Cable 7336 from Griot's it went out on me after like 3 or four years maybe longer, sent back after a phone call and recieved a brand new one with no issue whatso ever and it still is running but has a short in the cord, about to get repaired as a back up to my PC7424XP & Flex 3401,but TOP NOTCH SERVICE from Griots.

I live on the west side of Indy about three miles from the Griots warehouse in Plainfield. I bought the new generation 6" da when it first came out and have since bought a Griots 3" and two additional Griots 6" machines (one purchased from AG,one from a private owner and two directly from Griots). One 6' machine was give to my son in law as a gift and the other three see use almost daily in my shop. Accidentally one 6" machine was knocked off of a work bench and busted the rear section loose. A quick trip to the warehouse produced a new machine no questions asked. The broken unit was purchased from AG and I told the guy I was just trying to save time and shipping by bringing it to them. He also noticed I owned multiple machines. I mentioned how I used the machines and he said nothing about that being a problem. If there was to be a restriction placed limiting these machines to hobby or ocasional use only , my units would have to find a new home. It would be reassuring if somebody at Griots could confirm or deny their hobby only policy. Just an old mans thoughts on this subject.

Agreed ^^^

I have two of them will wobble in the bearing....wonder if they will fix that?

I haven't had any problems with GG warranty. They don't even care where you bought it from, print out the PDF from there website and just mail it in stating the problem. They either fix it or replace it. Now how they figure pro use versus hobbyist use, I have no idea.

I've had two go bad. To me the Griots are poorly made compared to the PC. Although some don't use it on speed 6, I do use speed 6 on occasion and noticed that it shortened the life of the Griots significantly. It's now that they're starting to see many issues surface. More repairs on the lifetime warranty. They also took out the "Professional" name on newest units.

Griots stands behind their products. I wouldn't be worried. :dblthumb2:

+5
I've had their DA for a year with no issues. However, when I first got their kit I didn't know that speed 6 tends to kill pads and it destroyed their polishing pad. I called them and it was replaced hassle free. The only other time I called them was when one of their sprayers was leaking like crazy and, again, it was replaced hassle free. I now buy everything from AG or Griot's because of their excellent hassle-free customer service.

Alex22---Here is the email address of a customer service rep at Groits who has been very helpful to me regarding the GG6-- Harris, Kyle M <[email protected]> Send him a note and ask about the warranty, etc and please post his replies here so everyone doesn't send him the same questions.
