Anyone have one of these? I'm torn between this unit and the CM8801FN which appear to be very similar. Anyone have any ideas on the first unit? The second has been well received.

If a DeFelsko, Elcometer, Highline II...combo EPTG is not currently in the picture:
-There's ~ $100 difference between the above two units.
-Might as well go with what your wallet says.

Extech is a decent brand and they have a boatload of different products. In my experience their customer service and repair/calibration has been good as well. Not sure about the other meter, should you ever have a problem. I've never used this particular Extech product however.

The price difference seems to be due to the Extech having a USB interface to a PC, and software. Handheld meter vendors do charge a fair premium for that. It does seem that could be useful, since you can just measure a whole car and then download all the readings, possibly saving them for when that customer comes in again, to compare to the previous.

Otherwise, you have to write all the readings by hand so it could be a time saver that more than pays for itself over the long run.
