I recently used whink rust remover to get rid of water spots on my windshield and it left a bad haze on it. I've used vinegar and water solution, window cleaners, and steel wool and none of them worked! I was wondering if there was any suggestions on what products and what methods to use? thanks for the help

In the past I've used Detailer’s Pro Series High Performance Glass Restorer to remove stubborn stains and water spotting. I used a white foam pad on my Porter Cable 7424 and speed setting 4. It works quickly and easily and will remove the stains...

right on thanks. if the other product doesn't work, I'll give that a try

i just came in from doin some work on my daily driver hooptie. i was havin a bugger of a time gettin the glass clean. i dont know what got on it( all glass on exterior) but i tried a few things to no avail. read about using m105 so i grabbed my da and went at em. WOW!! i couldnt believe it. the pad i used had a lot of crud on it too( i even clayed the windows before anything, which also pulled a lot of crud off of em). cleaner than they've been in a long time!

Will it remove a bad haze left from the application of a caustic cleaner?

it should. what i personally would do first is wash with dawn dish soap or wipe it down with IPA, then go over it with a clay bar.

might also want to look at the ceriglass product from CarPro.

Probably need the power of a rotary to get the best results with whatever you end up using though.

If the bad haze is milky white then it is caused by the caustic chemical used. I tried to pull up the MSDS of whink but the program has compatabilty issues for me.

If so, then what's done is done, and there's no recourse. Kinda like burning through the cc type issue.

it is not a milky white haze. thanks to the people for the helpful tips! I'll let you guys know what worked!

:bump:
Just wondering what method alleviated your problem..
