Has anyone ever used facebook boost if so how dose it work. I need to start advertising and i am not what my best low cost option would be. My facebook page only has 107 likes on it. My website is on the first page of google in my area. Any help would be great Thanks

Front page google & 100+ likes.....It sounds like you don't need a boost, at least you shouldn't.

I just was asking about some of this on another thread and would like to know too. Sounds like your going something right if your at the top of the page.

Just did the Fb boost thing for the first time this morning. I just did the least expensive one ($20) and have already gotten a couple of views and likes. And just took a call from a guy who saw a headlight resto I did and wants his daughters car done.

Yeah but if no one is calling then? Think the boost might help people that haven't really thought about getting something done think about it. Like in my case, the guy who viewed my headlight one may have thought that headlights like that were unsalvageable.

First, make sure you're using facebook business manager from a computer. It will allow you to target your audience. I'm going to try to make a write up on this in the near future.

I just finished boosting one of my post on facebook business page for $5.00 family and their friends. I did not get any jobs from this but my website terrific was raised a little. For $5.00 i will try this again in the off and on to see if it my help. Just thought i would give you the results on my post. Thanks

Thanks sdguy55, sounds like a good idea!

Here are the results from my 2 hastily done $10 boost, $20 total.

There was not any real content as writing in the two post I boosted. Both had very simple titles. One was a headlight restoration with 6 pictures, and the other was a trashed interior job with 11 pictures. All were before and afters with nice bad before pics and good result after shots.

Results:

I received a few likes pretty quick, and then a call asking about headlight restoration. He had also ask if I did "polishing/waxing".

On the headlight one, the first comment was "Yea bug spray does the same thing .lol", and another said "They sell a kit at auto zone for 12$ don't they?"

I tried to give a professional responses to both.

Thrashed interior one response was basically "how much", and "nice job".

Also had reasonably intelligent conversion with the "bug spray" comment guy.

Facebook results # for my 2 $20 boosts.

Just a few of the things I did wrong and maybe what I should have done, please feel free to add:

I did not do anything with the interest section. "Car, and my location, and a news producer were there.

In the location section while typing a town name in I selected a same named town listed in the drop down choices that did not list the state. I assumed it had picked the town closet to me as the top selection, it had not. It was not near me.

Make sure the list shows the state. If the town name does not show up on the list, it is not spelled correctly or it is not in their index.

List areas that you know you want target and do not list that won't serve your interest as well even if they are in your service area.

List interests that you believe your ideal customer would have.

Trying out the $10 daily page promotion and $10 daily site promotion now. Will give feedback when done if wanted.

So far, 24hrs:

57 Website clicks, 3621 Reach
16 New likes, 1301 Reach

Also the boost in the above post was for 24hrs.

Just made a post to boost. I'm just starting out here and kind of nervous to do this, but here it is for scrutiny.

I'll let you know how this all turns out. I targeted soccer moms, and parents as an experiment. It increased my estimated reach by a bit.

By the way it's the "free car wash" post

380 people reached.
5 likes, 1 comment, 2shares. (Instructions were to like, comment, AND share)
7 post clicks.

At least I have one winner. Kind of nervous.

All in all a complete disappointment.

Feeling extremely dejected about everything at the moment. I'll stay positive, but it's really hard when nobody wants your service when you're giving it away Gratis.

Update: As promised in the contest, I did an exterior wash on the winner's car. It was a white Impala with large shiny wheels.

It was actually a positive experience that left a more-than-happy customer. It really does boil down to attitude. Stay positive!

I did a few extras. I did a quick clean on his wheel wells and applied dressing to them, I cleaned his door jambs, clayed his vehicle, demonstrated iron-x decontamination, and vacuumed his interior. It was done in the parking lot at his job, using the 2-bucket rinseless method. He was impressed that I was environmentally friendly.

He's happy, I'm happy. I worried and felt down for nothing. Lesson learned.

:)
