Hello all. A friend of mine just bought a used 1997 Toyota Camry Silver the paint is a little faded , would like to know if there is a hand wax or sealer that cant help restore it something that can be done by hand and that is not so expensive.

I appreciate and help and comments.

Thank you

Louie

Well is there clear coat failure or just heavy swirls?

Photos would greatly help.

Clarity in the paint will come from polishing the paint to actually remove the defects. Waxes and sealants are to add protection to the paint.

colorx can be bought OTC and does a great job cleaning up the paint as it's primarily intended use is for finishes that are in not so good shape. of course if the clear is failing , then a re-paint is the other option...

* revives tired, dull finishes *
* clean, polishes and waxes, all in one step! *

Good question. I had a 97 4 Runner that started to look faded on the hood. Turned out to be clear coat failure in spite of taking good care of the paint.
