Anyone tried the "fancy" LCC pads? the ones with the different foam layers, curved shapes, and full coverage on the backing plate?

Any comments on them? Are they good improvements or just gimmicks?

I have tried almost every pad there is out there and I keep coming back to the original flat Low profile white pads.

I use the 7.5" curved CCS pads on the rotary.. Green, Blue, and white the most.. Occasionally the orange. If I have to get more aggressive than that I just go to the LC foamed wool, or twisted wool if required.. (6" edge wool just came today, so I will be experimenting with it soon). I like them personally.. Never have to worry about centering, or somehow managing to hit the paint with the backing plate..

I think I would prefer them in a 6.5" pad that took a 5" backing plate though.

I am currently using the 5 1/4" CCS pads and I cannot say I'm having any issues with it. I also have the 6.5" CCS pads, just haven't tried them yet.

All using a 5" backing plate.
