Favorite bug splat removal products/method?

Was wondering what YOU use for bug splat removal and what type of media to you use with it?

I just spent about an hour on the front of my F-150 with a MF mitt and some carwash solution thinking there has to be a better way. Came here and looked around in the store and there are SO MANY products. Just as many ways to agitate them loose/off too.

Thoughts?
 
I just figured this out about two months ago - - - - I was driving to a job and for some reason it hit me - Why not spray APC on bumper, then coat it with foaming glass cleaner, let sit for 4 or 5 secs and then wipe?!?!?! Works great man :dblthumb2:
 
I start off by blasting the panel with water with either a pressure washer or regular hose. For cars that are not waxed regularly I will use Poorboys Bug Squash 3:1, spray on liberally and let sit for about 1-2 minutes without allowing it to dry. Then use a MF towel that has been soaking in a separate bucket with soap and water and lightly wipe off. For maintained cars I would just soak the bugs in ONR at quick detailer dilution instead and follow up with a spray wax.

AG carries a bug sponge that seems to work well.
 
I haven't used very many specific bug removers but over the weekend I used Garry Dean's Friggin Awesome In And Out Cleaner and it removed the bugs without issue. Keep in mind that I haven't hand washed my car since right before Detail Fest and many of the bugs were baked in. It also removed tar without effort.
 
Yellow bug sponge is great for aircraft leading edges and for AUTO windshields, NOT aircraft windscreens. The tip I mentioned up top I have told no one - but Im telling you it works..... taking two very non aggressive methods and letting them work together, then applying your favorite coat of protection afterward works great. Would have saved me tons of time and stress if I had figured that out 2 years ago lol. Torch is passed - that is all :dblthumb2:
 
+1 for diluted APC and the yellow bug sponge. Unfortunately someone stole my bug sponge while it was drying in the sun out front of my house last week! Neighbors must be jealous of my Autogeek supplies.....

I have been using Optimum Power Clean as of late if I am planning to strip or polish.

My dad felt the same way before I convinced him it was safe. Then he was so excited when he found out for himslef that it is soft as a sponge once it has soaked a few minutes.
I run mine it hot water before use to make it really soft. Usually use apc or OPC, sometimes I'll use Einszett(1Z) Anti-insekt. If the bugs are fresh then I will just use sudsy wash water and bug sponge. Usually follow up bug clean up with spray sealant like WGDGSS.
 
I just orederd Einszett Anti-Insekt, hopefully it works. Says it works without removing LSP!

Thanks man.... seems like know one is feeling the method - but I assure you it works great.... shocked myself and Tyson on how well it worked actually. We have bug sponges and don't need them anymore. My Hypothesis is that the APC is trapped by the foaming glass cleaner (which agitates the APC at the same time) and the two non aggressive products work together to eat away at the bug guts. Yes this will strip any protection away, but should not harm the clear IMO. Then go back over the bumper with your choice of protection. Simple, Fast, Effective, and Easy. :dblthumb2:
 
Anyone tried seafoam bugs b gone? Saw that one @ Advance today.

Looks like most anything other than car wash solution will strip most waxes then?
