I'm not into American Idol or Dancing With Whoever, but I do like the car shows: Wheeler Dealers (Edd China is amazing), Overhaulin' (Chip blows me away), Car Chasers (guys out of Lubbock are fun to watch), West Coast Customs (incredible) and I just finished watching Desert Car Kings. Up front, I'm not an auto mechanic or body guy; I like to wash & wax cars. I am impressed and amazed what those guys can do with what looks like an old piece of rusted crap. So those of you who are that talented, you have my utmost respect. But, the episode of Desert Car Kings where they restored a old Studebaker, paint job was nothing but holograms; and the dark blue really showed it. The painter said the paint dried too quickly and he had to wet sand the whole car by hand, wonder why he didn't use a machine, but the final product- while shiny- really showed the buffer marks.

Top Gear (UK version NOT the lame US one). Overhaulin', Counting Cars

Top Gear UK, Chasing Classic Cars, and I always watch the Auto Auctions whenever they are on.

:iagree:

The "Top Gear"(UK) production is really the best. No other show has the same quality of video. Plus, the guys are hilarious.

I love chasing "Chasing Classic Cars", too. And Chip Foose's show, although I'm really not into customs. I just like how the guys work together.

Of course, auctions are cool too. I probably got hooked on them first after I got the flatscreen TV. The cars looked amazing in HD!

I tend to go for the shows where everyone gets along and there are no "bleeps" needed. Although they do some amazing work, it's just not fun for me to watch.

Top Gear, Fifth Gear (I think Victoria is hot as hell even though she is no beauty queen), Chasing Classic Cars, Motor Week. I hate those "reality" car shows where people scream and swear at each other just because a wrong part was ordered. I want to see the cars driven and reviewed - new and exotics and the classics as well. I'm not so much a put together person such as restoration, although there is one exception in that I really like Mike (Bower is it??) and Ed China on Wheeler Dealers.

I wish they had a dedicated detailing show but I realize that because of advertising dollars it would eventually get to be nothing but one big product infomercial - Meguiar's or Griot's, for example because they have the big bucks. Can you see them using a Duragloss product to detail a car when Mother's buys a one minute ad spot? That just ain't gonna happen!!

Top Gear (uk) and also a new show I have watched online only a few epsiodes I have seen available but

Fox news sports has a show called Shut up and Drive.

Very cool . Check it out if you have not already seen it :props:

Well, my wife will really appreciate me taking up more DVR with these great suggestions.
I really can't but wonder if a car show on taking care of cars (detailing) couldn't be done some how. I mean, cars now days are SO expensive. Since I've been detailing I've noticed how many cars have clear coat failure, bad polishing jobs by guys who can physically handle a high speed buffer but can't get a great shine by using it, people pouring dish washing soap into a bucket and using bath towels to wash & dry.
Given the stuff we discuss and read about: hard paint- soft paint, swirls-squirrels and scratches, claying-Iron X, DA- high speed buffers etc; seems to me as though folks would want to know how to care for cars that cost more than my first house cost.

Counting cars

Great cars and great work being done

Sent from space through a satellite

Counting cars, Graveyard is also a good show, Overhauling is ok. When with my kids Monkey Gas Garage.

Top Gear UK and Fifth Gear, Motorweek and Autoline too.

Sent from my SPH-M930 using AG Online

I'll be catching it on TV, sucks that its always on during the playoffs though. Really wanna see what Ron Pratt is going to pay for that L-88 race car.

And speaking of Car Shows! :D

As usual, I'll be DVR'ing each and every hour of Barrett-Jackson!
( We have 4 single tuner plus a 5-tuner and TWO 2-tuner DirecTV DVR's!) :dblthumb2:

Like that show where the guy is supposed to be the best "restorer" in the country but he tells his CUSTOMERS what they'll be doing to their cars? I don't think so!

But when it comes to cars in TV shows.... anything and everything. I'll watch anything that has racing too, don't care if it's kids on tricycles. If it's racing, I'm watching! Im the MAN

Oh and Edd China? While the dude has a lot of patience, and can turn $hit into gold.... it infuriates me to no end how they'll buy a car, (well Mike buys the car) then Edd will work on it for a week or two and they'll clear £395. I've tried, honestly I have, but I keep yelling at the TV!

Chasing Classic Cars, My Classic Car with Dennis Gage, Counting Cars, Top Gear (US & UK), Overhaulin', Fast 'n Loud (Gotta love my Dallas guys :))

Truthfully, I'll watch just about anything car related if it's on. I LOVE racing, so any form of that is usually my first choice. Otherwise, a good scripted reality, like Fast 'n Loud and Counting Cars, is nice to just zone out and watch. Chip Foose is amazing. Enough said! Gotta love Dennis and his handlebar (a regular Detail Fest attendee, too.) With CCC, some of those beauties Wayne buys and sells are some nice eye candy!
