However, I do own one of these : Meguiars Water Magnet is a soft waffle weave microfiber drying towel that's softer than terry towels and more absorbent than a chamois. Attracts water

I was surprised at how well it works. I'd prefer for it to be a bit softer, but I've had no issues with it marring the surface. It absorbs water well and is easy to wring out.

I guess I didn't realize they sold that here; that's a good towel at a good price, I agree it doesn't feel very soft.

Waffle weave for drying a regular wash. I mostly do rinseless washes, so I use a plush, 16" x 16" towel, with D156 for extra shine.

I don't use one from here as my primary, so I'll leave it at that like the others.

i have that towel, well one identical to it from chemical guys

its brand new in the package yet....i opened it up, felt the towel and thought it was too "stiff" to dry with. I thought for sure it will scratch my paint

maybe i should give it a try?

Ill try it out on some pretty hard paint first ......

If your CG towel is "stiff" it's nothing like the one I linked.

The Meg's towel I linked to is pretty thin and handles like any normal towel or rag. Once it's damp it works really well. My "soft" comment was not in the pliability, but the actual texture of the fabric. I have others which feel softer to the touch.

Wash it first, that'll soften it up.

I use a waffle weave and another that isn't sold here that ABSORBS (hint) well. I'm a dabber though. I just lay them on the wet spots, and dry them up that way. That's really all they are good for.

If your budget is limited...so is your available selection.

The Meguiar's Waffle Weave are fine, but I do not use them for softer paints or after the paint is perfected.

I prefer a drying towel that is not offered on AutoGeek.

Same here. I like to use a thick microfiber towel (800+ GSM, 1000+ if you can find them) for drying as they hold a ton of water. Never been a huge fan of waffle weaves myself but everyone has their own thing. I also prefer 16 x 16 towels as they are much easier to handle than the big 20 x 40 (or bigger) towels. I find the big towels a little clunky. I can dry a mid size sedan with two 16 x 16 1100 GSM microfiber towels.

I'm curious.

Would you guys mind sending me a PM with a link to the magical drying towel everyone is talking about, but cannot be mentioned because of our forum rules? :)

To be honest, any decent buffing towel makes a good drying towel, I've found. What's been working great for me is to have a wring out/damp one and a dry (or two) final buffing towel - similar how one cleans glass.

I have all sorts of towels, including Microfiber Madness. In the end, I always reach for the rolled edge Super Soft Deluxe. As soon as the towel becomes saturated, wring it out and go back to work.

Seems like an extra step with this method, but it's much easier than other means. It shouldn't be, but that's how it is for me.

Lmao, I was thinking the same thing.

Is it possible that they are all talking about the same towel ? Lol, my bet is there different towels lol.

Either way I got a good laugh out of your comment.
