Felt Ring

What's the opinion on lubing the felt ring? Do you lube it before every job or just once in a while?

Thanks for that question.

I've lubed it when polisher arrived, but to date I still feel it's lubed (not perfect like when first using the lube). I was trying to answer the question you've made, but wasn't able to get a good answer.

After reading this thread, I may decide to periodically lube it, I may think twice or three times an year.

Whether it's needed or not I'm really not sure. If memory serves me correctly, Flex recommended it and this may have been related to a problem which was corrected. I keep my machines clean and when I remove the backing plate, which isn't too often, I wipe the area and add just a bit more lube...

Something I do know is lubing it lightly hasn't hurt....rops:
