She told me she's getting me a steamer for christmas.

She doesn't know much about them and neither do I.

However, the price point is $200 and she's looking at a Mytee VS1500. She managed to find one cheaper than AGO is priced for which seems like there's a deal to be had.

For the same price point, the 1385 McCullogh I believe it is, is available.

Of these 2, which should she get me? And why

I have the 1385 McCullogh and it is not half bad. I bought it from harbor freight last year, don't use it much anymore. I do use it from time to time when customers want me to clean there interior. I also have a tornado though that I use for my shampooing interior service. Plus I have multiple uses now for the tornado. Foam cannon/gun and interior shampoo.
 
I have the McCulloch 1375, and I like it so far. It's capable of 4 bars of pressure, heats quickly, and pushes "dry vapor" steam instead of "wet steam." It seams like steam to me, and I know it kicks the crap out of my $80 hand-held canister unit.
Start out with a McCulloch; if you think you'll be a steam lover, then you can decide to invest in a super-fancy unit if you're a volume detailer. Otherwise, I think you would be wasting money. Some buy a steamer, then end up not using them as much as they thought they would.
To answer your question though, I've never used the model you are comparing the McCulloch to. However, McCulloch either the1385 or the 1375 won't disappoint.
The 1375 is cheaper, pushes the same amount of steam, but has a smaller tank.
My 1375 rarely runs out on me. Mostly, I have to drain the remaining fluid when I'm finished.
 
I tried the Harbor Freight one first but didn't find it powerful enough, but it works, it just took more elbow grease on my part. I ended up going for the Daimer KLEENJET PRO PLUS 300CS but that will be out of the price goal of $200. Maybe you could add to it and get the VX 500 or KLEENJET PRO PLUS 200S? Those are around $800.

Depends on how much you plan to use it as well. The KLEENJET PRO PLUS 300CS is nice because you can refill it as you are using it. Don't have to wait for it to cool down. But if you don't think you need that benefit you can find cheaper.
 
Amazon had the mcculloch 1385 for $148. I picked one up will be here Saturday. They may still have it priced that low, might want to check
