Hey guys, I posted a thread awhile back about my ideas for a business card design. This is what I think will be the final copy, front and back. Just wanted to get some thoughts before I printed.

Also wanted to ask where you think it would be best to get them printed for a good price. I was thinking I wanted gloss either on both sides of just on the front so I can leave the back to possibly make a referral portion.

You should have your phone # on the front and I'm not a fan of stuff on the back. The front looks great :)

+1 phone must go on the front
If you high gloss the back it will be difficult to write referrals on
Ditch the backside. Let your website provide that stuff or just say complete mobile car care services avialable.
Front side looks awesome.

So maybe for the backside just come up with a referral program and put only that one the backside?

You could probably ditch the back completely if you add your number to the front. Gives you a spot to hand write a note/message if you want.

I also find the facebook/twitter logos useless and unnecessary, but understand that a lot of people like to throw them on their cards. They will first go to your website, which you can link to your twitter/facebook if you want. You could take them off and then properly center your text on the card.

Front looks great.

For the back, I think your list is not really useful. Many of these terms are very technicals and most people don't know what a Multi-stage paint correction is (for exemple).

I would either remove it of is you want to keep it put something in layman's terms like :
- Interior and exterior cleaning
- Paint scratches removal
- Engine degreasing

and so on. On your website you can use the more technical terms because you have plenty of room to explain what everything is. On a business card, if you use terms your potential client doesn't understand, it's not gonna make him want to call you.

I'm also thinking something like this for the back to gain some additional business. It's my first attempt at a type of referral but 15% off for my new clients could be between $15-60 off and for the 4th referral the package cost I am giving away is $60.

I don't really care for this. Put it on your website. Just not a fan of tieing incentives to referrals. Not saying you can't or shouldn't treat those who refer you but just not on the business card. Then there is the time frame issue. What would you do if a referred person came to you 45 days after the date?

The purpose of having it on the card would be for the new client to have something to present as proof. The 30 days is to attract new business within a specific time frame.

Working with promotions we do this all the time to control repeat business from these types of programs. We always honor them within a reasonable timeframe though.

I would rather make the money from the package at a discounted rate than not at all :D

If you do good work they will always come back and tell all their friends. I don't have any promotions except for first time customers. I feel your business card should always look professional and have to much on it doesn't look professional. I always put a couple business cards in a new customers car works great.

Here is what Renny Doyle suggests in his book:

10% commission for referal and free detail for every 10 referals (if memory serves).

I think you are giving away too much, it will really cut in your profits since referal should be your major advertisement method. I really suggest you read Renny's book : How to start a home-based detailing business. It's about 10$ in electronic form (Amazon, Google Play Store and the like) and something like 20$ in paper form, Autogeek sells it. You will get a lot of good ideas and learn a lot from a true master.

I have read his book but I forgot about that part in the book. I'll have to give it another read. Thanks:D

I am reading it right now so it's easier for me to remember LOL!

I couldn't find the section in his book that specifically talks about the referrals but I think if I went with 10% off and a free exterior protection detail every 8 referrals ($65) value. That should be pretty decent.

There's a spelling error on the word "package". I have used a similar incentive and have had some success with it. I agree with Pureshine though, if you do great work...the referrals will come.

Fixed it up. Ya, I'm sure I won't have a problem with referrals. I work in a restaurant so I have the channels to market myself pretty easily. I like the idea of offering them something though:)
