Final Touch Detail - Black XJR Jag - Extreme Swirl Correction

This Jaguar was showing it's 7 years of age on every panel. The fact that it was black only made the situation worse.

So 12 work hours later on the exterior provided some pretty decent results. I wasn't able to FULLY clear everything up, but it was night and day difference. To totally clean it up would've required and full wet-sand across the vehicle. Overall this car received 16 work hours. Matt and I both worked on it for 2 full hours on Saturday washing/claying and cleanin the wheels and my brother and I spent 6 full hours each today (he was working on the interior for 3.5 of the 6 hours.

I tried every combination to clear this paint up from black pad with M205 to purple kompressor pad with M105.

Process:

Full wash using high concentration of Chemical Guys Citrus Wash N Gloss through Foamgun
All jambs were washed and wiped clean of grease and stains
Wheels were treated with CG's Grime Reaper and thoroughly scrubbed with a variety of brushes
Car was claybarred front to back (every panel) using Claymagic Claybar
Exterior was first hit with M105 on both Orange and Purple Lake Country Pads on the FLEX at speed 6
M205 was used as the finishing polish on a Black Lake Country Pad on the FLEX at speed 5
Meguiar's Sealant was used to seal the finish on a Black Lake Country Pad at speed 3 on the FLEX
Showroom FX's Black Carnauba Creme topped the finish and was applied via Black Lake Country Pad at speed 3
Every panel was meticulously wiped down using an acryllic detail spray
All Exterior Chrome was treated with CG's Metal Polish
Tires were dressed with CG's VRP Dressing
Wheel Wells and trip were treated with CG's Bare Bone's spray

The interior was fully cleaned including vacuum, DP Total Interior Cleaner and Meguiar's leather cleaner. My brother spent 4 hours on the interior, lol.

The results from before and after speak for themselves...

Swirls before washing:

This hadn't been washed....in a while

Hard water spotting on the chrome trim

.....yeah

Roof swirls

Trunk swirls and hard water spotting...These were the worst swirls I have ever seen

So...that's what we were dealing with....

Now onto the detailing

I used a VERY concentrated solution of Citrus Wash and Gloss

My buddy matt helped me with wheels and claybarring on this car.

This is a closeup of the trunk under 2pm direct sunlight of how clean I could get the paint. There is still damage, but it was as good as it was going to get. I hit it with everything without getting into wetsanding.

Nice JOB! Does the owner know they can wash it with soap and water and not use sand paper to clean it? I just can't imagine what it takes to get paint in that bad of condition....Awesome turnaround!:buffing:

No, but my brother (who was helping me out that day) only took a picture of me working while I was using M205

That car saw M105 on Orange and Purple Pads and M205 on White and Black pads as necessary.

All correction work was done using FLEX DA and spot buffing was done on small panels (namely front and rear bumper) using a PC 7424 (non XP) with 4 inch pad.
