Good grief. Internet took a dump Saturday afternoon. Of course, it has to be over a weekend. Finally, back on this morning. Verizon showed up and found the issue in no time. Not detected by a test, but a actual probe of the line. The phone line from the modem to the phone splitter was bad. He commented don't see it often, but it can happen. Replaced. Done.
