Well, after practicing on my Dad's van, mom's car, friend's beat up '88 Tercel. I tried it out on my car today.

Only one panel (passenger side door), so I can really get a feel for what I need to use.

Process for the right side: XMT 3 on yellow pad. Still some decent scratches, so I tried XMT 2 and green pad. Again, some slight markings so I finished with XMT 1 and orange pad. Turned out flawless.

For the left side (not pictured) I did #3 with yellow pad followed with orange pad and #2 XMT. I tried to eliminate the middle step, but after working this in, there are still some very very slight markings left.

Out of the car's I've practiced on, my CC was pretty hard.

 Very nice.......................congrats:righton:

Nice side-by-side shot. Really shows the difference. Keep up the good work!

White's have some of the hardest CC..

Looking good though.. any sealant/wax after all that hard work?

I am afraid I can't agree with you, Nick. My white Toyota Supra, that I sold shortly after I got the vette, had a soft clear coat. Very easy to work with. Vette is a nightmare. That being said, I don't think it goes by color, but by make or model....perhaps?

Just did a quick topping with AW. I'm more than likely going to try and tackle the rest of the car tomorrow. Then do the whole car with either DG 105 or Natty's.

I believe its the car company, paint used, etc. but I would say 8/10 times, white is one of the hardest CC, with black usually being the softest..

Not on a vette or my Supra../:(

I think it just seems that way because it's easier to see the results on a black car. I don't think they spray different colors with different clearcoats, but I could be wrong.

The Mustang looks great.....that's how you do it! Now, if we could just train Lauren!!;):awesome:

After a couple quick PM's with Justin, I'm going to try a few things tomorrow.

Litlle less pressure with yellow pad and #3. I think I may have been breaking down the polish too much and thus inhibiting some of the scratches. Hopefully with some more practice, a light polishing of orange pad and #1 will make it look nice.

Also, I want to try #3 and green pad, see what that can do. I'm interested to see how good XMT #3 is.

And finally, green pad again with XMT #2. I used this on my Mom's car and worked really really well.

How come your car looks brown in all of the pictures?

Probably a multitude of the things.
1.) camera was about 3 feet from the car
2.) the only real light was the halogen light
3.) no flash on the camera

Also, using #1, and a polish, like AIO, these will get rid of anything that was left behind from #3.

You'll see what I'm talking about when you use #3, #1 (if needed), AIO, sealant/wax..

Best of luck to you..

You'd think #1 would get rid of everything left. Not on this hard CC. I had to use green and #2 after the #3/yellow first.

Tomorrow I'm going to mess around more with pressure/working time, rather than combos. Hopefully then I can go straight to a light polish of #1/orange pad, or maybe even straight to LSP.

When using #2, were you able to clear up the problems? If not, then it seems maybe you didn't let the #3 polish break down long enough..

Roughly, how long did use the machine, and on what speed?

O, it's breaking down all right. Speed 6 with edge pads. 5 min for the 2x2 area. You could see the abbrasives broke down.

It's cool, it's fun to me. Still learning, and looking forward to tomorrow.

That sounds about right; although using #2 to get rid of anything left from #3 doesn't seem right, though. If you encounter anything from #3, it should be very light. #1 SHOULD take care of this, but I guess not in this instance. I will stop replying, as I have used other products for removing deep swirls. Just trying to pull things out, that hopefully others can finish.

Best of luck to you tomorrow bud.. Im the MAN

Very nice, good job :applause: that picture is very nice. Funny though, my Volvo took Green Edge pad with XMT#3 and whas good for a LSP...I didn't know that you could go straight to a LSP after XMT#3. I asked Sparkie and Lauren and they helped me out, I guess it all depends on the car and the clear coat. The reason is funny because I thought I had to go through all three steps, meaning XMT #3, XMT #2, XMT #1 and I actually did try this but it only gave me some micromarring. It got rid of the scratches and swirls but it left some micromarring.

This picture, that is how my Volvo looked after green pad and XMT#3.

It's looking good buddy :awesome: let us know how the rest goes.
