Anyone have any experience with this?? I know finish kare is new to autogeek but I just saw this and figured that it might be a great solution to rail dust? I have a 99 white s10 that has had a horrible rail dust problem. I have spent hours claying and it eventually comes back. I clay til my arm falls off, buff and it looks great and then months later BAM! orange spots again! I also want to be able to permanently remove rail dust for customers.. I hate to charge for a service and have it come back.

When it comes to rail dust. Clay smooths the paint and removes the particles above the surface but leaves metal particles that are embedded in the surface of the paint. This is why the problem is coming back. Here is some information that I had posted on Detail City:

My experience goes way back. Some folks may not know this, but I used to be a mobile detailer for 7 years. Back in the day I used the Finish Kare Paint Decontamination System quite often to deep clean the paint so I am very familiar with the these products.

These are professional strength products and I do recommend that the proper precautions are taken to use them in a safe manner.

CAUTION: The Finish Kare Paint Decontamination System is for professional use only. This system contains an acidic cleaner. Protective goggles, gloves, and clothing should be worn, and a first aid kit should be available in case of accidental contact.

For detailers that are working on cars with excessive rail dust, brake dust, IFO (industrial fall out) and ferrous metals, this kit is the answer to decontaminating the paint obtaining a smooth surface.

You can go through a lot of clay bars on a car that is covered with IFO or rail dust so the Finish Kare can save you money by removing these contaminants chemically instead of mechanically.

Detailing clay bars are still the answer for paint over spray and a wide variety of surface contaminants. The Finish Kare Paint Decontamination System is the answer when the paint is contaminated with IFO and ferrous metals. This system saves the professional detailer time and money by not ruining detailing clay by loading it full of metal particles.

When I used the system, I would still do detailing clay after using the Paint Decontamination System to pick up any over spray that was on the paint surface and my clay would stay cleaner much longer than before I started using the system.

Since I was mobile, working in the shade was vital as you don't want to use this system on a hot surface.

OK thanks for the reply Dwayne. It says to use proper precautions when using the system.....I understand personal protection but is there anything you need to do to protect the car?

Is this a spray on wash off type product, i see it looks like a liquid? About how long would it take to do an average car?

Also how many cars will "the system" do?

Thanks!
David
