Finishing Polish Opinions?

Hey Guys,

I'm thinking of trying one of these as a finishing polish then going to apply ceramic coating so the less fillers and junk the better. Not sure what the difference is between those 2 3d products options are? This will be applied with a black foam pad.

I'd use the new meguiars 210 finish polish if u go with meguiars.

Ur ? Depends on the condition of your car.

Thanks, do you know the difference between 210 vs M205?

It will be used for multiple cars but the idea is paint correction then just use this finishing polish to just give it that last little bit of shine/gloss where the step before may have left it slightly dull.

-So what? Before applying the majority
of Coatings, isn’t a “panel wipe”—of
some sort or the other—a requisite?
If so, then: POOF...fillers/junk begone!

Yes this is true, but if I happen to miss a spot or its not all removed with 1 pass on the panel etc. So I would rather have no fillers if it was an option.

But im leaning towards the new meguiars 210 finish polish if I can find it in Canada.

I’m by no means an expert when it comes to paint coatings, but since very few people have replied... Isn’t this where primer polishes are ideal? But then again I think Ive read about certain primer polishes i.e. Blackfire Primer Polish not containing abrasives, so what’s the deal? Is the proper step to use a traditional polish to remove defects, then follow that up with a primer polish in order to prep for the coating?

Maybe the coating guys can chime in and explain that for us.

As stated above make sure you follow the coating manufacturer’s suggestion for their “panel wipe” product to get the most out of the coating.

Now the truth in polishes: No matter what brand polish you use, there is some type of filler in it. There are spent abrasives, abraided away paint, oils and whatever other ingredients that can be technically be left behind and considered “fillers”.

There are a few companies that have primer polishes that can be coated right over and that’s a different situation. Just go with the coating manufacturer’s recommendations and you will be set.

Yes I may use Geyon Primer to polish if I dont need more cut. If thats the case the question is would primer finish just as nice as the new meguiars 210 finish polish? My guess it may be close but probably not?

Either of these polishes will work just fine. As mentioned follow up with a pre wipe and you are good. M205 may need an additional prep wipe.

M205 has more cut but M210 was designed to finish better for those softer paints.

Im going with GTechniq EXO v4 and CSL

I’d skip the primer polish and go with just a finishing polish with this coating combo.

It's just updated and supposed to be an improvement on 205. It should be perfect for a 2nd step product theoretically. I haven't used it yet but cant go wrong with meguiars
