First 50 PE14 Polishers?

I thought it would be fun to see if we can't account for the first 50 polishers. I believe Max has #1?? Mike #2?? Is that correct?

Where are #3, 4??

I have #5 and #16. Chime in if your in the top #50.

That is correct. Max was given the #1 serial number Flex PE14-150 Rotary Polisher and I was given the #2 Flex PE14-150 Rotary Polisher. It was an honor to receive the #2 polisher and I'll treasure it forever along side my first rotary buffer I used to buff out thousands of cars.

Here's Max's from some pictures taken at SEMA in 2010, this polisher is now in a display case in the studio on the back of the workbench.

You can see it in a lot of the pictures I post from car detailing projects here at Autogeek. Look under the Autogeek banner and you can see Max's PE14 on the top of the workbench, to the left is my trusty, dusty completely worn out Makita...

Here's my 00002 Serial Number Flex PE 14 Rotary Polisher.

In the process of looking for a picture of my 00002 PE14 I found these...

Chris aka IID has Serial #00005, see this thread,

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/flex-polishers/32411-flex-pe-14-a.html

In the same thread, Bill aka LegacyGT has Serial #00045

Richard aka rwright had Serial #00068, not under the 50 count but for the record...

Yes it is. Here's mine:

From this thread, Jason aka SeaJay's has Serial #00019

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...2407-those-have-flex-pe14-2-150-polisher.html

I don't have any pics of myself with my Flex as I haven't got to use it yet. I did sleep with it next to me last night though. It's a nice cuddler! haha, I'm just joking!

That's my contribution to this thread... guess it's kind of a "Registry thread for the Flex PE 14 Rotary Polisher"

:xyxthumbs:

Very interesting, two of the same serial #. That means the value of both just doubled!

Two 00005??????? Ask Chris to go check his? LOL

I just got off the phone with Bob Eichelberg and he explained what's going on...

When Flex builds a new tool, the first 10 are for lack of a better term, "Beta Run Tools". These are the tools they will test and torture before building "Production Tools".

When Bob gave you your Serial #000005 Flex PE14-2-150 Rotary Polisher, this was a "Beta Tool" that he had from Germany. At some point the green flag was waived and Flex went into production of the new Flex PE14-2-150 Rotary Polishers.

Max and I and everyone else has a "Production Run" polisher. Bob also said there is no way to tell the difference between a beta run and a production run tool as they are identical in build.

And that's the rest of the story... :xyxthumbs:

AFAIK, Phil Yiu of Detailer's Domain has serial number 3. Not 100% sure.

YES!! Even cooler than I thought!! Bob also called me to explain. This piece will be displayed proudly in my polisher museum!

I looked for differences between my production #16 and my pre-production #5 and I noticed a few minor things. The red of the case isn't the same. 16 is darker than #5. You can see the case color in my pic versus the pics you posted Mike. #5 came with a red side handle and 16 with a black one. And the mans face on the sticker (to show you need googles to operate) are different. #5 has a black face with light color safety glasses on. That mans face is also different in the pics you posted Mike.

I tried to get my order in quickly but evidently not quick enough, I ended up with #00510!!

I'll add him to the registry list and we'll go with it unless someone posts otherwise...

Actually, I too think it's pretty cool you have a beta model... it makes it more unique and more rare. It's certainly worthy of a place in your "Polisher Museum".

It's all about the details... but of course you know that Joe...
