First car help!

So I turned 16 last week and now I'm looking for a car, basically my budget is 5,000. right now I have my eye on a 1989 Corvette. What cars would you suggest for 5k or less? My preferences are sporty cars and maybe suv's like land cruisers and 4runners

Get a cheap Honda. Don't get a sporty car and risk killing yourself. You're 16 and most likely eager to get driving. Not to sound like a parent but there are enough 16 year old kids out there driving like they own the road. Take it easy and enjoy a regular gas saving car and make it your own.

Some of the Fords like the escape and older mustangs are good for your age. If you want a reliable sedan, find an old crown victoria or a taurus

That Corvette is going to kill you with parts and insurance, besides it's ugly.

A 4Runner is very reliable and great car, easy to maintain and cheap to Insure. The Land Cruiser might just be THE best truck ever made, IF you can find one, take it!

I'd say get a basic Honda or Toyota until you get a good drivers record and some good track record with the insurance companies, only then you get something sporty..

My dad actually owns a 96' Landcruiser he said he'll let me use it once he gets a new car, but also another option I could get is my dads 95' Lexus GS300 that nobody drives, would you recommend the Lexus or Land Cruiser?
