WASH:

  • Pinnacle XMT Shampoo
  • Sheepskin Wash Mitt
  • Wheels done with APC 10:1
  • Bugs removed with bug scrubber
  • Dried with the Cobra Guzzler
POLISH:

  • Entire truck clayed. It has NEVER been waxed or clayed before.
  • Throw away two clay bars.
  • Clearkote Quikshine used for lubrication
  • Wiped off with Cobra towels
  • Single stage polish: Orange Kompressor Pad with Megs 205
  • Polished: FLEX VVB Rotary on speeds 1-1.6
LSP and Misc:

  • Waxed with Meguiars NXT via PC
  • Two coats of Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax
  • Final Wipedown with Pinnacle XMT Quick Detailer
  • Tires and vinyl treated with Armor All Extreme Shine Gel. Applied with foam applicators.
  • Note: It was about to rain, but yes, the exhaust tips were cleaned and polished.
  • Also: TIres were dressed, not shown in pics. I was rushing the pics before it rained.
This detail, I also figured I would post my reviews of the Pinnacle XMT products in deph. Meghan sent me the three to review a while back and this truck used up the last of all three bottles so I thought I would give my experience with tried and true results.

Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax: This is a great product and will provide a few weeks of beading on its own as well as some looks on one coat. I however feel that this product REALLY takes off when you layer it around 3 times. Around 3 coats, and you get the smoothness you would expect from a Pinnacle Paste Wax and will have great deph, shimmer, and flake pop. I would categorize it as similar to SSII in terms of looks. My favorite colors to use this on would be Silver with Flake, Blacks, Yellows, Dark Blues, and Reds. Bottom Line: REAL spray nuba wax that works. Nuff said.

Pinnacle QD: This is a real great QD. I recommend having some grape soda on hand when using this... Trust me. This stuff just smells sooo good. I went and got a 2L of Fanta after using it. This is a mac daddy of QD. The chemical provides a VERY slick finish to a car after you have applied the LSP. It significantly improves the look of a vehicle and smoothness of the paint. It really adds sharp reflection to a finish. Souveran or another deep shimmer wax wiped down with this stuff produces a killer look that has to be seen in person. A little goes a long way with this stuff and I would recommend it to all.

Pinnacle XMT Shampoo: I have used the entire bottle of this stuff and will get more. This truly earns the Pinnacle name. It does not smell all foofy like flowers or makes massive suds that do not do anything but look good. It is a straight up lubricating machine. This shampoo does an EXCELLENT job of making dirt particles falling off the car and it shows when you use it. It is a hard working soap and if you are looking for a strong soap that does not remove wax and sealants, look no farther. I have used it on several vehicles that get very dirty outside but retain wax protection and this stuff does it. One swipe across the paint and the dirt is on it's way off of the car.

PS: Use XMT 360 and the QD together. I call them the Pinnacle Twins because they should really go together whether used alone as a wax or used to top a sealant or synthetic wax. Great products and they look spectacular when used together!

OK pics: Sorry, it seems my camera lens is going, everything came out very bright, but I hope you can make out how good the truck came out.. I was very pleased. The FLEX VVB is a paint correcting demon. I polished the paint to 90% corrected on step, another round would have made it 100%. I wanted to, but time is money and Im also an engineering student, so if Im not getting paid, I cannot stay :( I am going back though. They loved the truck so much that I got 4 more full jobs scheduled before I left! Ok Ill stop rambling.

PICS!

Big shout out to Asphalt Rocket. Great guy and helped me get my rotary technique down pact. Thanks for helping me to provide such a good service to my customers. Its because of you, I got 4 jobs from people rolling by the driveway seeing this truck.

Meghan / Max / Killr : Thanks guys. Meghan has always been there to help me out and I still have that tub of Souveran ;) Thanks to Max for helping me back way back when to get my business started. Thanks to Killr for egging me on to get the VVB. Great choice!

Also thanks to AG as a whole. Seminole Detailing is rolling strong now. I cannot say enough to be able to pay more for school myself and have a better standard of living here at FSU. Just, Thank You.

Also thanks goes to Mike for your series of videos I dug up on youtube. The how to use a rotary section of the vids were great.

Great results! :xyxthumbs:

Great write-up with excellent before and after pictures. Thanks for taking the time to put the buffer down, take some pictures and then take even more time to process the pictures, add comments and create a write up to share with everyone.

Nice write-up and the truck came out looking amazing.

Why no tire shine? Owner didn't want it on his work vehicle or you put it on after the pictures?

He stated it was about to rain so he put on after photos. You go to keep the camera dry!:xyxthumbs:

I put it on after pics. It was a mad scramble to get pics, tire shine, and get the thing in the garage. The thing's tires sucked up some tire gel! It took like 10-15min to cover them and inside the wheel wells.

@Meghan, thanks :)

Awsome work Ryan. I'm sure you are GLAD ya got the Flex. :props: As good as your knowledge is on detailing, you will be able to do ANYTHING in the near future.

Again, congrates!!! Im the MAN :detailer:

Thanks man. I had always heard that the rotary just added a level of luster on it's own. I sure saw that when I took a side picture and the entire body was a mirror regardless of angle.

I'm pretty excited. And yes, the FLEX VVB Rotary is just sweet!

This was a great write up and you did a great job on that truck. :xyxthumbs::dblthumb2::buffing:

Great job Ryan. Dana's a great guy and very knowledgeable about detailing.
