Alright fellas, this is my first review so take it easy on me. Yesterday I finally had the pleasure of using meguiar's new black wax. I forgot to take a picture of the actual product packaging, but this will have to do.

I originally thought it would come in a nice plastic bottle, but instead came in those metal/foil like containers. The product came with the bottle of product and a foam applicator from meguiar's. When i popped the lid open it had a metal seal that required me to use a nail to open and be able to get the product out. Nothing too major until i realized that when squeezing out the first dab of product. I had almost put those little metal pieces against my paint.

The consistency of the wax threw me off a little as it wasn't a complete liquid, but more of a paste wax.

The wax was very easy to apply and a little really went a long way. I applied it by using a grey finishing pad and giving the whole care a nice thin layer. The only thing I really couldn't get a feel for was the amount of time it needed to dry. I let it sit for 30 minutes and even then it was still smearing using the swipe test. So I just decided to wipe it off.

These were the final results.

Overall it was a great product and the wax did indeed darken the finish and made the metallic pop more. It filled in minor swirls equivalent to that of a glaze, and left a nice slick surface. I will definitely be using this product on all my dark colored cars now as a great AIO/Glaze.

Thanks for reading guys. Would appreciate some feed back:xyxthumbs:

Thanks, Baconz2012, for your review of a 'newer' Meg's product!! :props:

I, too, like this cleaner-wax...

-I have found that Meg's White Wax has more cleaning/polishing ability than the Black Wax...

-But the Black Wax has more "polishing oils" for that darkening-effect you mentioned.

:)

You are welcome Bob and I absolutely agree with you. I bought both the white and black wax, but have yet to test the white. I had heard that the white wax has more cleaning ability which is what made me choose the grey foam pad. I plan on using a white polishing pad with the white wax. How did you apply the white wax if I may ask? Would the technique be the same for lets say a Paint cleanser? Granted that you let the wax sit until it hazes.

LC's Hybrid White Polishing Pad...is what I've been using here lately for cleaner-waxes.

BTW:
Did I mention that your vehicle looks very nice? It does!!

Why Meguiar's decided to use a ToothPaste looking bottle is beyond me...

Seems like an ok product. Good 1st review.

Nice! I have the White and I've only used it on my white Fit, with not as noticeable results. Then again, it's hard to notice much on a white car that's already up-kept. But it is cheap and I still plan to use it.

Ill be using this wax today after work just bought it yesterday and my guess on the packaging is just like toothpaste because of the consistency you can get most of the product out by rolling the tube.

I just used the white yesterday on my beige malibu. Results were pretty good. Like you said, when your car is maintained light colored cars kind of take the fine out of it haha.

Yes, the paste wax actually flows straight out when you get it going. I like the black wax because of the polishing oils, but I topped it with ultimate paste wax which boosted gloss a little. I plan on testing the cleaning ability of white wax soon on a MX5

Very true. I bet that had a lot to do with it.

Well, first post.

I bought into the hype and picked up the Black for my Cadillac STS-V and White for my Wife's Mercedes.

After using both the white and black wax for awhile I actually use white wax much more. White wax has better correction ability and cleans up the vehicles very well based on pad combo and the amount of work you use. Black deepens the color and reflections. For some reason I only got about 1 1/2 months of durability from both of them.

Flip the lid, the opener is on the lid.

I've used White Wax on a black car and love it. I like all-in-ones.

Can't wait to try Black Wax.

Thanks for the review and nicely done car.

Thanks!! That was one of the things I was wondering about. Did you top it with anything?

No i didnt. I wanted to see how it would perform on its own. Its a great product and I usually use it as a nice gloss enhancer on cars. Makes em look nice.
