So I've always kept my cars clean but have always had a fresh slate to work off as they have been newer cars but I recently picked up a PC 7424XP and want to try out my skills on an older car in need of TLC. With that, I'm taking my brothers older Neon which he uses as a commuter car. It's a dark blue and I doubt has ever seen wax and he uses it to go from point A to point B to save gas and miles with his work van.
My plan is to wash it, clay it and then hit it with Meguiars Ultimate Compound however after that, I want to make sure I take the right next steps. I don't have a true fine cut polish as all that I have is Blackfire Total Polish and Seal and BF Gloss Enhancing Polish and from what I understand, neither have abrasives so will not cut the paint at all. Will they do the trick in cleaning the paint correctly following the compound or should I be using a different product? I would like to use the Total Polish and Seal and then top with Collinite 845 for the durability as it's just his daily driver, I don't want to go too crazy with higher end products.
My end question would be simply that would the Total Polish and Seal be enough after the compound? (Sorry for the longer ramble
