hey this is my first post here and I'm looking for some aid
i have been detailing professionally small time for six months now and I've never encountered scratch removal. Usually minor swirl removal and standard intermittent washes. Embarrassingly while driving my Infiniti FX today i ran over a construction pylon and it put several light-medium scratches into the paint. I have a bunch of high grit wet/dry 3M sandpapers and i know how to sand the scratches, but my main question comes from the compounding steps. I have both a rotary and a DA polisher and I'm comfortable using both. I have a good compound, swirl remover and finishing polish. I am not to sure what pad I should use. I think that i should use a wool pad, but my gut is saying to compound with an orange LC foam pad with the rotary. Then use that pad again with a swirl remover on the DA. Should i use the foam or the wool? Thanks :)

Try the orange pad with an compound on the rotary. Take your time with it and don't try to get it absolutely perfect if you can't.
