This is a grey/tan trim that has a weird riveting pattern in it. Is there any specific way to tackle this?

Thanks in advance.

the stripes are caused by the original color fading, older model expeditions are famous for this. the only true fix is to dye or paint. Duplicolor and SEM both make good products for painting . Back to Black is a good black dye, Show Room Nu makes a good grey dye. I've used all of the above in the past with good results. Hope this helps.

I'm a huge fan of Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant. That product amazes me. It's easy to apply, darkens trim and beads water.

I didn't bother taping up the black trim on the M3 I recently polished because the M105 won't stick to it or discolor it.

Sadly I didn't have enough time to go down to autozone or order online for a trim repair, but randomly I found some Mother's Back to Black in my first ever detail purchase (lol)!

It took me a lot of fine scrubbing with a terry towel but I turned the trim into looking brand new!
