I am going to be compounding and polishing a Black 2015 Tahoe. I know I will use the flex with my menzerna fg400, but should I use the flex or the griots for the menzerna 3800?

I have quite a few polishers in my arenal and always reach for my flex if I'm not using a rotary.

i was thinking of buying myself a flex for christmas does it really work that much better then the griots garage one???

Night and day. Go 3401. Once you do you'll never want to go back to a non-forced rotation unit.

^^^ What he said. I'm surprised the OP still has his GG6 for polishing duties. Convert the GG6 for carpet use, save it on the side for helper use, or sell it

They perform differently and should be used my different experience levels as well imo. The griots I think is the perfect starter polisher while the griots is for more advanced users. The direct drive is different to get used to and adjust to its way of running. If you are new I'd start with the griots then when you perfect it's use move up but keep the GG6 for other applications

I bought a 3401 last month. what a huge difference and definitely a major step up from my PC7424. Very happy with it.

the better question would be, do i need it for my situation? if you're only doing your car/family and a few on the side (or only a few times a year) then the GG6 would be a great choice. if you plan on doing several a month and time is money then the flex would be a good choice. many get frustrated with stalling and if you are one of those people then get the flex as it will power right through without stopping since it's gear driven...

400 finishes really nice, so you can certainly use the griots 6 inch with the.3800 for the polishing stage, as that should take no time.

I prefer using a 8mm da on the polishing stage sometimes anyway.
