I love tools especially German Quality and American. I am retired so to speak for my detail business for 39 years. Yes I know the Flex DA is expensive, that is why I like some feed back for detailers who own and use it every day. I have a new porter-cable DA works just fine but for my taste . I probably
do not need to spend $400.00 for a tool I may use just once every a year on my cars and my friends cars.

I am a detail holick! cannot do much work any more because of my condition , but when I am feeling good
I like to have a tool that will get the job done. I hope you guys in the field can help me make a decision.
Sincerely
Bob Geco

I dont know what your condition is, but if you do not have a lot of strength in your arms I could see the flex being hard to use. It will throw you around if you are not using proper technique. I have seen it happen to others and had it happen to myself late into a two stage polish when your arms are tired and you press down on one part of the pad to much it will jerk around.

That would be my only concern, but if you have sufficient strength; I love mine. The build quality is great and I have not been handed a job that the flex could not tackle yet. Below is my most recent job. Results speak for themselves.

After reading your Private Message to me about maneuvering a polisher/pad into tight areas I would whole heartedly recommend the Flex 3401 as a more powerful alternative to the Porter Cable polisher but if you're going to get one, then also get the Lake Country Backing Plate Adapter System so you can get the 4" backing plate and then use the 5" Hybrid pads that I show in this article.

+1 on what Mike said. I have the same setup and love it.

a Rupes is better. So get that if you can.
I have a Flex I'll sell you.
I works great, but the Rupes it better and the Flex spins the wrong way.

After using both for a brief minute, the Rupes did feel a lot smoother than the Flex.

The Flex spins opposite directions than PC, Rupes and Rotaries? (Was that what that was?) hmmm interesting, did not notice that. Lol

I use a Flex and have had it for almost a year now, I would only use rotarys in the past. At least 90% of my work is corrections, I did four paint corrections this past week alone. I spend countless hours behind that machine and I LOVE it.
