Bought the Flex Edge Adapter to use with 4" pads, it came assembled (shaft attached to plate). Problem is I need to dis-assemble to attach to Flex 3401. Tried open end wrench in vise - attached to shaft and a strap wrench to twist the plate, it wouldn't budge. Any one else have this problem, how did you resolve this? Tried calling 3m, they had no idea, said they would call back, I am tired of waiting. For a dis assemled pic search "3m flex conversion kit EF08"

Itried a mini pad on the 4" plate, but the cotton kept getting stuck to the
velcro--so much for staying free.

How does the Edge set-up work on the Flex? I did not find a lot of information about Edge pads on the Flex which led me to believe that maybe it is not such a great set-up. When I look at buying info (Autogeek) for the Edge pads and which machines they are recommended for, Flex is not listed.

I bought the Flex but I have not decided on which pads to get. I like the fact that both sides of the Edge pads can be used which will save money in the long run. Even if it costs $45 dollars up front which is about the cost of 4 regular pads.

Thats because the adapter is only available from the manufacturer. I love the adapter as it is the only way to use different size pads on the Flex

ive been using the edge for quite awhile now but does anyone here beside me have the same problem? when i put in the plate and then the screw, i tried to screw in the adapter if thats what u call it, it doesnt quite fit in easily. sometimes you have to use some force to make it work but then yesterday, the thing doesnt want to go in and one of the lines on the plate bend so now i couldnt fit the adapter into it anymore....there goes $50...:(

is there a warranty on the edge?
