hi AGO members. I was just curious about your thoughts if you use the L3403 and if you really like it. I just want some honest hands on experience with the tool. I've been using the dewalt 849 for a long time and I just want something different. I own the 3401 and I absolutely love it. I would love the PE14 but I don't want to shell out $400.......I could......anyways. I did try the new dewalt 849x and that's a pretty sweet tool so I just want to know if your happy with it. sorry for the long post. Cheers!

If you are wanting to get a Flex rotary it is worth it to get the PE14 because of its ultra low running speed compared to the 3403.

With the 3403 its lowest speed is 1100 rpms and in my opinion that is slow enough to do your final few section passes.

I also have an 849x but that is to heavy compared to the PE14. Since playing with the PE14 at SEMA with Mike this will be my next tool

I have both the 3403 and the PE14 as it is a good machine . THe PE 14 as stated above has a lower starting speed and better designed. Worth the price difference . You maybe able to pick up a used PE14 due to folks moving to the Rupes.

If you think you love the FLEX 3401, wait until you try the PE-14!

The PE-14 is smooth as can be, and the lower RPMs make it worth the extra cost. Some polishes recommend speeds as low as 900 RPM, and jeweling also works better at low RPMs. Additionally, cutting with wool (including PFW), is a lot more controllable at 600 RPM, not to mention a lot less scary!

The PE-14 is, by far, the favorite of my five polishers (which includes a FLEX 3401). I use it whenever possible (and practical).

thanks for all the replies. the PE14 will be next then. guess I'll start saving LOL. I'm patient enough I'll just do some more side jobs in the mean time. so who wants to part ways with their PE14???
