Flex Mini 4 3/8"BP and 5.5" Pads

Have any of you used the new 4 3/8" bp with 5.5" pads on the Flex 3401? And if so, how did you like it? I'm thinking of getting a Flex and already have an assortment of 5.5"pads. I'm thinking it may be more cost effective to get the smaller bp than a bunch of 6.5"pads. If I'm overlooking something please enlighten me. Thanks.

Works great. Keep in mind that the new 4" bp is coming out shortly, not that is necessarily affects this decision

I have a 3401 with the 4 3/8" backing plate and I'm satisfied with the results I can get with it using 5.5" pads. It seems to me that you can get there quicker, much quicker than you can with other random orbital buffer/pad combinations. That has been my personal experience.
