My Flex will be here tomorrow.
Also got the backing plate and a few 5 inch Hybrid pads.
Question is should I get all grades of hybrid pads or can I get by for now with orange, white and black?
I know I'll need the blue and yellow to match the pad to the amount of correction needed but to get started this is what I'll have for now. OK,, and the 10% sale ends in one hour! :)
Never used anything but a rotary "Makita 9207" but it's been 15 years so polishing with a DA is new to me.
Products I'll be starting with are D151 for the AIO and M105 , M205, #21 for the more serious stuff.
I'm pretty excited to get back on some paint and cant wait to try the Flex.

Thats about the same setup I just bought and used on my truck. I got 2 of each colored pad, but the 3 you listed will work. I also used D151 with it and less is more.

I use the LC hydro's with my Flex and I'm still a newbie but I've found that I would rather have extra pads and not need them, then need and not have them. I've got a box full of the hydro's but until I use them up, I won't switch to the hybrids. Of course, hybrids have two additional colors urgh!

Are you planning on doing paint correction on the whole car? If you are, I would have at least 5 orange & white pads...

What the heck, 10% off , added 3 of each color :)

Thanks for the info!

Orange, White and Black will tackle just about anything...

Just be sure to do a test spot before buffing out entire cars. I'm a huge fan of the Flex 3401 with the 4" backing plate and 5" pads. In fact I just finished a new book dedicated to the Flex 3401 and state this in the book. (that I like the 4" backing plate and the 5" pads).

One thing that is a problem when using one-step cleaner/waxes with dual action polishers or rotary buffers for that matter and that's you might leave DA Haze behind with a dual action polisher, (any of them), or holograms when using a rotary buffer.

Working on a fix for this for the future... but until then, test first...

Great! Now having 3 of each means you will have plenty of options to choose from when doing correction work.

Second order now I'll have 4-5 of each

Get the blue wool one as well.

Maybe Black Friday, I do want to try them,

Orange, White and Black will tackle just about anything...
