Recently bought the Foam Cannon for my Karcher pressure washer. Filled the tub with soap and installed the AG supplied adapter. I proceeded to lay down some thick foam when the pressure washer started to cut in and out (pressure). The Cannon is installed directly after the pistol grip. I removed the Cannon and re-installed the lance and the pressure washer works fine. Any thoughts?????

That happened to my pressure washer too!!

I think the pressure washer does that initially when its building up pressure just after turning the unit 'on'.(might also happen if there's air in the line)

After a few mins, it became normal on its own!

Does the washer cut in and out again after you've tested that the stream is steady?

Yep that's normal. It's just air the line. Hold the trigger downfor about 3 mins until it works through. Oh and never leave the PW running without pulling the trigger. Pressure builds up and will ruin compressor and seals.

Thanks for the replies. I thought I held it for close to two minutes but continued to surge. I felt like I was wasting soap as I let it run to see if it straightened out. It never did, so I adjusted the pressure down on the Karcher and it ran without surging but pressure was poor. Where does it get air??? With the lance on the pistol it works fine.
I guess next time I get it out I will let it go for three minutes, but I hate to waste foam.

Let it run and prime before attaching the foam gun, maybe look into quick connect fittings to make things easier for ya

If you don't run the air out of the hose before hooking it up the air passes through the PW. Run water through hose first then hook up.

:iagree: Get Quick connects and a shutoff valve. Set it up like this- Garden hose> Shutoff valve> Female Quick connect. Male Quick connect on the PW.

Run water through the hose so there is no air in it then close the shut off valve. Connect the hose, via quick connect, to the PW and open the shutoff. While the PW is powered OFF pull the trigger to run UN-PRESSURIZED water through it, listening for any air to be released. Then turn it on and foam away!

Also, I've had problems with a long extension cord going to my PW. It wouldn't operate correctly, I removed the offending extension cord and all was good.

Thanks everyone for the good replies. I will try all this next time I get it out and in the meantime I need to run out for some quick disconnects.
