Foam Gun - Question

Questsion:

I picked up a Faom Gun (model below), I BELIEVIE I have it all together, however, I am left with a small piece. Instructions call it a "deflector" I believe. I do not have the instructions in front of me at the moment. However, I don't see where it calls for it. My guess is it is a possible replacement for the tip should I choose to not use the extension (black wand on the end of the foam gun).

Did I leave something off by chance?

I had the same question here a week or two ago. That is an alternate head if and when you don't want to foam but instead want to spread a chemical in a wide fan pattern.

That said, I don't plan to take off the foaming lance.

That is what I "thought" it was for, but wasn't sure.
