As many of you know, it's tough raising parents these days. My mother, in an effort to kill me as slowly as possible, runs her 2003 Lincoln Town Car through a tunnel wash every three years, whether it needs it or not. With the recent rekindling of my interest in detailing, I took it upon myself to clean her car in preparation of her attending my father's high school reunion in his absence.

For the uninitiated, in 2003, the Lincoln Town Car fell into the Dreadnaught class of Destroyer. To large to be a cruiser, but barely too small to land aircraft on. Lincoln also used a special tint to achieve a cream color that attracts tree sap, as well as random bits of dirt that happen to float by. These get caught in specially designed ridges along the hood, and all over the roof and trunk.

Apologies that I didn't think to take before pictures, and I thought there was no hope in hell, short of sand blasting, to get it clean. I first washed with Chemical Guys Citrus, then attempted to clay with Mothers. It got a little, but not much.

That's when I grabbed my Nanoskin 6 inch fine pad, Glide, and trusty PC DA.

I can't believe it came off. Everywhere! This one job alone justifies the cost of the pad and Glide. Amazing.

I'll still keep clay on hand, but when cleaning a hectare of paint, I'll be using the Nanoskin! Love it!

Agreed, I have all kinds of clays of various brands and aggressiveness, but I haven't used them in about a year. The nanoskin towels is what I use and it is a massive time saver. I couldn't go back to a clay bar unless necessary after using a nanoskin towel.

Nanoskin Auto scrub on my Flex is all I use. Decals and bumpers I will still hand clay at times.

Love the Nano!

When you have grounds to cover, it's definitely worth the consideration.

Here's a vid that convinced me to give it a shot:

I went out and bought the sponge and mitt. I didn't feel comfortable enough go the DA route on the soft Subie paint. Not sure if I still want to since the mitt is doing quite a good job & I'm not beating a clock.

Awesome to see you are digging the Nanoskin. I no longer use clay. I have a spare clay bar, however, I think it will be too dry to work as I have not looked at it for over 2 years. I like the Nanoskin Blue wash cloth/towel.

I'm thinking of picking up a fine mitt as well, just for the feedback while using it. But I love the DA pads.
