So a month or so ago, I was in a small collision where the guy for some unknown reason, put his car in reverse at a stop sign and backed into my bumper, I went through his insurance and he took responsibility. I remember having seen horror threads where the bodyshop either could not match the paint, and/or left the finish filled with hollograms and wet sand marks.
So I did alot of searching and came across Philip Thearle's Autowerks.
I decided to check the shop out, I took a tour of the facility and I was very impressed. I even got a peek at their buffers and pads. They used rotaries and their wool pads were CLEAN! Thats right, clean buffer pads. The place was very clean and I asked many questions and was satisfied with the answers I recieved.
So I left it with them. They replaced the bumper and painted it with out blending into any panels. Got it back and I was honestly shocked at how good it looked. I knew what to look for in bad paint jobs and I could find nothing to critique.
Fast forward to now, I decided to finally opti-coat it(he said they baked it, but I figured waiting another month couldnt hurt). Here it is after stripping the wax and a light clay job, I have done NOTHING but strip the paint.
I couldnt believe it. They did it absolutely right and perfect the first time. Zero swirls and zero hollograms. This is also reasurring for me because I have sinse washed the panel four times and this shows that my wash method is spot on for not inflicting marring. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car back to them for work. I highly recommend them!
