this Focus c-max belongs to a neighbour who asked me if i could have a look at her car for her. i had one day to turn it around, so started at 8.30am and finally handed it back at 6.30 that evening. last time it was washed was 6 months ago, and it's hasn't seen any polish since they bought it 4 years ago. on the up side that meant the paint was still factory depth.
a few before's (some were taken on my iphone the night before, so please excuse the quality)

so as you can see, plenty to keep me happy (as it turns out, for most of the day) i gave it a good blat with the pressure washer and a soak with some Valetpro Citrus pre-wash to get started. Then on with the wheels which i gave a good hit with AS Smartwheels - great stuff

next up, time to clay. born slippy and some DJ SN fine clay.
The bonnet wasn't too bad at all, but it had been resprayed (PD8 reading 400+)

then i did the front wing which was it bit more what i'd expected to find

the rest of the car was just as bad. So once clayed it was out with the fezzy. i tried a few combos, but for the level of correction i wanted i found Scholl's S3 gold on a white festool pad was just about spot on. i did on occasion move up to an orange pad for some of the real nasties. that was followed with DJ Lime prime on a Festool black finishing, leaving this

a quick post-polish wash to get rid of the dust. i decided it was time to break out my new tribble to avoid putting any swirls back in.

i decided to wetsand the headlights to try and get back some sort of clarity to them, TBH they could have had another hour spent on them, but again its a matter of what i had time to accomplish.

due to the fact that the bonnet had been resprayed and had no clearcoat, i decided to apply DJ SN Hybrid to give the protection factor a boost

the roof got a coat of DJ Acrylic spritz

the rest of the car was waxed with DJ Blue Velvet, because i love it, and tires were dressed with DJ SN Tyre dressing, trim was treated with AF revive and glass was cleaned with DJ Clearly Menthol. leaving this.

if you made it all the way through, it's a miracle. thanks for sticking with it. if you skipped a few, you're forgiven lol
i'd like to have done more; i didn't get to the interior at all, which is a shame, the wheels need to come off and be cleaned properly. i'd also have liked to get another coat of wax and tyre dressing on, but for fifty notes i think she was pretty happy (a labour of love if ever there was one). it also didnt help that the chipstick they gave me to repair the deep vertical scratch in the drivers door was the wrong colour, hence the fact it's still clearly visible. other than that i was really quite pleased.

Man they musta thought you bought them a new Cmax!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol. They were quite pleased ;-)
Tbh, I love these 'rescue' jobs. They're really satisfying
