And they gave it options of auto and manual trans with the V6 versions, and then came out with the V series only available in manual trans form. I just saw the new 08' model online and it looks mean, little edgier witha sweet interior, and if the rumors of the next V are true (LS7 engine) that car will stomp on the E60 M5. That's the big difference, Caddy gave their buyers exactly what they wanted and even kept the bloated DTS for the older Towncar type buyers. Now GM needs to apply that concept to the rest of their brands, and Ford needs to take a hint.
Hehe, I was raised differently around cars, I'll daily drive a Cobra replica and could careless lol. Friend just drove their ACR Viper down from Kentucky, which has a Moton racing suspension, that's what, 1300 miles? Most people wouldn't last 30 minutes, yet we do lol.
To each his own. I think the new caddy's look like crap. I wouldn't buy one even if it did perform. Caddy's use to look like something special. I think a vette's one of the few GM cars makes that does really look good. I do like the vette but a freind of my wife has a 2006 vette and has had to take it back to the dealer more times then my 1985 Vette has been to the dealer in 22 years. Their quality has continued to go down also. Apparently a lot of people agree. Every year their market share is going down. GM's bigest shareholder did not have much faith in the company's turn around and dumped all his stock last year. With a $3.2 billion second-quarter loss, a 115 million third quarter loss, a who knows what the 2006 4th quarter loss will be and a cut by 50% in their dividends I glad I'm not a GM stockholder. I think they also had something like a $10.6 billion loss in 2005. It's going to take a lot more then a 100,000 warrenty to get people to buy their cars again.
Both GM and Ford really need to get their act together. I'm from the Detroit area and I have a lot of ties to the US auto industry. I certainly hope they can get it together. They have a long way to go.
