Formula 1051?

So this showed up on YouTube this morning. Supposed to be super thick coating that self levels, they show where it has been applied over a 1200 grit sanded surface, but doesn't have to be done that way, that was to show how thick the coating is.

A couple quick observations: one, this is not unlike Cerakote headlight coating or the old Spar Varnish technique of going over a sanded surface, two, Optimum had a product a few years ago that no one remembers, called Clearcoat Restorer, which was supposed to add thickness to thin clear. It was a flop, it was basically a one-component 2K clear, it had to be kept in the...freezer? Or at least the refrigerator, and it had isocyanates in it, so you had to protect yourself like it was 2K.

This Formula 1051 coating is from a company called Avant Guard, and the front man is Eron Knox, who I recognized from the Jescar compound/polish videos. It seems to be a pro-only coating (certified installers), although they have a DIY page that has a spray sealant among other products.

It appeared yesterday on the THOR channel, so the usual caveats apply as to whether Mr. Knox is an actual principal, whether Avant Guard is actually affiliated with THOR, etc.

Boy you guys are a tough crowd! I was just bringing attention to a product that might be "The END to traditional coatings?" according to the THOR video. I haven't watched enough of it to even get to any explanation of that click bait.

EDIT: I watched a little more of that video, and Eron Knox is one of the K's in KXK Dynamics, that makes polisher racks and sanding sticks.
EDIT EDIT: Looks like they only have 2 certified installers, both in Florida--looks ripe for somebody else to jump in! Apparently Knoxy closed his detail shop and has no ownership in Avant Guard, he's just a front man.

Is this in regard to a detailer purchasing products or a detailer installing them?

There’s certified… and then there’s “certified.” Not all certifications are created equal.
Some brands hand you a “certified installer” certificate simply for purchasing their products.
Others require much more.

Real certification means:
Demonstrating deep product knowledge
Undergoing hands-on training under expert supervision
Having your actual work thoroughly inspected
And yes, being evaluated on your ethics and professionalism

I've been in attendance at the serious ones. The ones where your skills are deeply scrutinized and your character is part of the process.
Then there are the others—where “certification” amounts to a show-and-tell PowerPoint presentation, and a purchase receipt.
If you’re trusting someone to apply a long-term coating to your vehicle, make sure their credentials weren’t just bought... but earned.

I heard they are going to be coming out with a consumer version coating.
E.G. Carpro has DQUARTZ PRO (Professional certified) and DQUARTZ GO (consumer version). Yes, there is a difference.
