Hey everyone, Mike here. I'm an avid detailer of my own vehicles and my motorcycle. I like to detail cars as much as I like working on them. Went to automotive school for a couple years, graduated and now I'm laid off:awesome:

Now for my question. I have a Makita 9227 rotary and love it! I need the wrench that fits the bolt so I can remove my backing plate. I'm pretty well set on the Edge 2000 polisher kit from autogeek. Anyone know where I can find the wrench that fits? Thanks in advance -Mike-

If you have a spindle lock, you can just lock the spingle and spin the plate off with your hand. If not, a simple open end (box) wrench should do it. Maybe a pair of Channel locks. The thinner, the better.

PS, welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome, I've tried all those you mentioned but I don't have a spindle lock. The problem is clearance and as you said, the thinner the better. All my tools are too fat to get in there. -Mike-

Unless yours is really old, you should have one. Press the black button thing, and turn until the spindle locks and can't turn anymore.

YOu should be able to just hold it down and it will lock the spindle down. Good luck.
