This is a continuation of my Forever Black Tire Dye Gel review. For the first part I followed the manufacturer instructions. Like most detailers, I got curious and wanted to see if I could use this on something else, namely trim. I was also curious to see how it would react if I topped it with another product. I tried topping it with my current favourite tire dressing, DP tire gel. I also tried topping it with Duragloss High Gloss Tire shine. There are lots of good trim dressings out there and Forever black also makes a dye dressing as well for trim, but hey, buying one product is cheaper than buying two. My wife's Pacifica has a scratch along the bottom rear trim. I was hoping it would both darken the trim somewhat as well as hide the appearance of the scratch somewhat.

TOPPED WITH DP GEL:

TOPPED WITH DG HIGH GLOSS:

CONCLUSIONS:
I really liked the look of the DP gel on top of the Forever black. You may find it too shiny, but I like it. The DG did not play well with the FB though, it seemed blotchy and not even. I would not recommend topping the FB with the DG High Gloss dressing. The trim looked better. It seemed to definitely be darker and the scratch did seem to abate somewhat. The only con is that is seemed a tiny bit blotchy although that may disappear with a little more time. Thanks for looking.
