Hi All,

I'm not sure if i'm doing this right.

First I used Menzerna SIP/Orange Pad to remove some marring. Checked with flash light and looks good.

Then I applied Four Star Pre-Wax Cleaner / Black Pad and buffed out.

But when checking with flashlight, now i see micro swirls around the light that weren't on there after the Menzerna.

Could I be apply too much pressure? Is this suppose to happen and then get filled in by the LSP?

Thanks!
Richie

I would say the 4* removed the polishing oils showing you to hard truth. You more than likely didn't remove all the scratches. The polishing oils simply hid them.

Another option is to do an IPA or Eraser wipe down to verify you have gotten everything polished perfect. This is always need IMO..

Hi Troy,

Thanks for the reply.

So should I:

1. Do another pass with polish.
2. Do IPA / Eraser Wipe (not sure what this is?)
3. Pre-wax
4. LSP

IPA is Isopropyl alcohol. You can get it at any local Walmart or pharmacy for cheap. But here is more info on it. Paint Inspection Isopropyl Alcohol 16 oz.

Eraser is a dedicated paint cleaner that is better than an IPA mixture in my opinion. CarPro Eraser Intense Oil & Polish Cleanser, IPA, paint cleaner, polish remover, wax remover

You can use you 4* pre-wax cleaner the same way though. Polish and then use the cleaner to make sure everything is clean. It is jus that IPA / Eraser is quicker and easier because you can quick spray it on and wipe it off.

The four star probably put the swirls. It has abrassives. It marrs my paint. Just use menzerna 4500 for your final passes and you will be fine.
