From "stay tuned" to T U N E D !!

That's a sign of a good tune. How does that compare to stock?

I bet your gas mileage is better too when not hammering along back roads. I know many of the good VW/Audi tunes result in nice gas mileage improvements on top of the power.
The 40.0 was from leaving my house to Whitestown IN, using ECO mode and +5 mph on the cruise. The 38.1 was from Whitestown IN to Corbin KY, about 1/3 in ECO and then switched to NORMAL due to more mountains, although ECO mode has power as well, same +5 mph on the cruise

Leaving tomorrow I'm skipping the construction zones I saw coming down, taking the route across to Nashville and then N from there, so the mpg rating will be slightly different, I guess, plus its cooler than when coming down...stay "tuned"

Anyone wanna make a prediction for the dyno today, it's a Mustang Dyno:

Mods
-----

1. LAP3 Stage 1.5 tune
2. N Performance intake
3. Shark Racing turbo inlet pipe
4. Stillen mid-pipe

Stock numbers are 276/289, onboard dyno has showed a best of 345/310....let the guess' begin

A great day at URW

Basically I made 315 whp & 330 wtq and once he pulled up my onboard dyno he confirmed that was my crank numbers (340/301) because he didn't have it set to record that, although it showed 380 hp and there's NO WAY I made that

He commented about the linear curve on the hp and the tq was equally impressive🫡

Next thing is a trip to the drag strip...can I hit 12's, stay "tuned"

Another good day validating the tune. Sounds like you have a winner. Now you can just enjoy driving it with all the extra power.

Thanks man and 100%

Nice! Yes it will hit 12s provided you can get out of the hole without too much wheel spin.

So I asked Google for the conversion from Mustang dyno to DynoJet

I'm 100% happy with my numbers, no doubt but people have wondered and here's what I found🫡

The measurement of horsepower is such a dark voodoo art. The number of variables is nearly endless. Dyno's differ, weather, temperature, the actual engine itself, the ecu, the list goes on. You can certainly measure the fact there is a meaningful/significant improvement. Exactly how much? Well......

I rather imagine that the SAE test the car manufacturers use is well controlled and repeatable.

That's probably as close as anyone can get to a true measurement. While the automakers may never release the exact results they see, those rigs and the testing methodology should yield pretty precise HP numbers at the crank.

The guy at URW told me they had engineers from Chevy for the Corvette and Porsche and they were very satisfied with their set-up

That is a good looking car, but the article and the image don't align. A quick Google image search shows makes me think the magazine made it up themselves. I see hints of my BRZ. The car in the image has a front engine with a long hood, short rear deck that's too low to house an engine, and there are no vents to feed air and cool an engine located behind the cabin.

The fact Hyundai/Genesis are looking at a rear-engine super car makes sense with their entry into WEC and IMSA racing series prototype racing. They had to stick two of their four cylinder engines together to find a power plant for a car. A new supercar with a new engine would give them a better powerplant to use in the racecar.

All the other images linked to the article looked like hatchbacks, which are normally front engine as well. But they could build something more exotic like Renault did.

Oh, I REALLY hope they do!! The world needs a touch of fun lunacy like that again right now.

That Renault is a bucket list item just to see, let alone drive.

I wish I had dyno'd "before and after" the tune but here's what a stock version of my car puts down on a Mustang dyno. Keep in mind I've got an N Performance intake and Shark Racing turbo inlet pipe and Stillen mid-pipe, those 2 bolt ons would add "some" gains but either way, a 75 whp and 105 ft lbs gain over stock with my LAP3 Stage 1.5 tuned ECU
