Frozen Crystal Mist

UPS delivered Crystal Mist that had ice chunks and consistency of slush, I need to know if it will still be good. Cold weather and unheated trucks this time of year.
 
Did you look on the bottle? Sometimes it says Keep from freezing.
 
Whats the general rule with products in the upcoming winter months? safe outside in garage( not heated) or better to bring them in?
 
try it .... if you find something appears wrong then give us a call for replacement.

For sure, any products you care about for car care-detailing keep inside.

About all I keep in my tool sheds, is stuff I either don't care about, or other types of chemicals like penetrating sprays, paint thinner, window washing fluid, oil.

There's not much in the way of car care goodies that I've seen hold up well, if at all, to searing heat, or freezing cold.

This can be the risk of ordering car care products during cold weather if you live in northern states.
 
I can't say this is true for all products but this is my experience.

Many years ago I left some Windex (70's guys, back in the 70's) in the garage & it froze over the winter. In the spring it thawed & has separated into blue liquid and a clear liquid, looked pretty cool. Being young & stupid I shook it and it seemed to mix so I tried cleaning my windows ..... the streaking was horrible and would not wipe off.

I tried some fresh Windex and it wouldn't touch it. I restored to straight vinegar and 0000 steel wool and then the new Windex cleaned up what was left.

I never left anything like that in the garage again, even more so now since the stuff I buy is worth way more than a bottle of Windex.

I doubt your Crystal Mist is any good but I'd verify that with the manufacturer.

Especially since many of today's detailing-products require oil/water emulsions.

Pinnacle Crystal Mist Detail Spray doesn't seem to be an exception to the "freezing risk".
(Could it be that it's an oil/water emulsion detailing-product?)


Don't toss it yet...
I'd do what killrwheels@autogeek suggests...
After it completely thaws, of course.

Spring, and warmer shipping-by-truck weather, is just around the corner.

I would think extreme heat would be more damaging than extreme cold temperatures.
 
Let it thaw at room temperature and shake it well. It will be fine. :xyxthumbs:
 
Tried it out in unheated garage, 46 deg., looks to be working fine. Had to wipe it several times, no streaks and has the shine. Would have washed it, but it's raining.
Suppose I should have known not to order liquids this time of year, I haven't had problems with it before.

I keep Ultima Waterless Wash and Pinnacle Crystal Mist behind the seat of my truck all year. They both perform as advertised despite being frozen a little here and there.
