I have found the following to work well for me, but wanted to see if anyone else has had really good success with another brand.

LUCAS
JB Justice Brothers
BG products.

Any one else have something they think is better than average?

Lucas works good...I buy it buy the gallon...I use it after I use a good cleaner like Techron or Seafoam or BG13....I use it in every 3rd fill up...or every 3 weeks...I fill up weekly.,,,

after reading alot of info the Lucas is a good after cleaning product to keep injectors clean and lubed...

also another good cleaner is the Syntech Injector cleaner....

You ever try JB line?

Syntech is made by Valveoline...its their synthetic line....I use thier throttle body cleaner also...every 6 months....

No never tried the JB line....is that the Justice Brothers line....I have heard good stuff on it....but again never used it or saw it local....

The Techtron has worked good for me and the sea foam in the brake booster line has worked good also...I notice much better response and smoother idling after a sea foam treatment....

I use Sea Foam like every 2-3 months, run through the brake booster line since on my truck Ford decided to put the PCV valve in the back at an angle you can't reach lol.

Thats it...LOL...BG44K..I do not know why I used BG13...the local performance shop use to sell it for 15.95 a can..but they went out of business....so its not available to me now....but I still get good results with the sea foam treatment...

Chevron w/Techron
Gumout REGANE

Check out the BobIsTheOilGuy.com forums for more info! Techron is probably the most popular OTC fuel system cleaner over there.

I have always wondered about if fuel additives worked. How can you tell if it works? And I hope its not "It pulls harder"

Of course they make it pull harder! :D I think they are more preventative maintenance more so than a performance improver. Most of the cars that I've seen show noticeable results from them are not maintained as well as they could be. In those situations, I've seen improved idle quality and very marginal improvements in mpg. It's more peace of mind and keeping the internals nice and clean. I've used the BG products mostly. Tried some others and wasn't really impressed. The Techron stuff has received good reviews, but who knows if they were "bought" or not. YMMV

Only Redline fuel SI-1 system cleaner for my ride! Its some great stuff, my dad said he noticed a huge diffrence after i put a bottle in the lexus, he said the throttle response was better and i just felt better over all. Strongly recomend it.

BG44 ... the only noticable difference !

Scott, Where can I get this BG-44 and how often do you put it in your car?
Thanks
Bobby

Also, if you only run Top Tier gasoline in your vehicle, it will greatly reduce the need for any other additives. Still a good idea to do from time to time though.

Even though I use only Shell gasoline, I still use a fuel system cleaner/lubricant. Mine is an every fill-up treatment which most people don't want to mess with so I really push it too much. If you're interested in it though, it's called FP60 and you can get it from LubeControl.com. It's probably the most recommended fuel system additive on BITOG outside of Techron.

I do it once a year, its some serious stuff. Its like a colonoscopy for your car and will clean it all out. I use google and pickup at best deal, normally 19.99 for a can.

I have used Justic Brothers since the 80's. So many people locally swear by Lucas and also BG. The BG44K is pretty spendy here - around $25.00 a can.

JB is pretty hard to find usually.

Best prices I have seen are on eBay. Have to watch for it. Once in a while you can get a good deal. Some dealers in many towns have it, but not something usually find in a car parts store I don't think.

My first tank I filled up on my Taurus got about 26 mpg with Shell 91 Octane. next fill up was with Exxon 91 octane but mpg dropped to around 22 mpg. Same driving style, same route. Does that make any sense? Well, yesterday filled up at the Shell gas station. Will report on the mpg.

Colonscopy for my car is needed.
