Hello everyone!

This is my first product review in a long time so I hope I do an ok job for you on this! The product up for review today is the FLEX LK603VVB Rotary which Autogeek sells for the wonderful price of $170.00. This is what first caught my attention since I have used the dual action porter cable for years as my main horse while doing rotary work on the side with my boss so I felt that the time to switch to a premium rotary was now.

Reason for picking:

As the search went on, I went through all the possibilities of the different polishers and saw that each one had certain features that I really liked about them. Makita has the quality engineering and powerful 10A motor. The DeWalt has the No-Nonsense construction casing that just says yo! I mean business. The Metabo has the balance. Soo.. I was thinking it would make an awesome rotary if all three combined to have some sort of love child that had strong construction, is precisionly engineered, a powerful motor, and is VERY well balanced. I saw the LG603VVB and did not see any reviews for it! Im thinking well the FLEX DA is getting wicked mad fanfare, their rotaries should be decent and decided to be the guinea pic. Dont ask me HOW they did it, but the lovechild of those rotaries is the FLEX LK603VVB Rotarywhich brings all the best rotary traits into one machine.

Packaging:
The VVB comes in a rectangular box, well packed and secured and comes with manuals and papers in SEVERAL languages:

So now that you have seen what is in the box, Ill take it out and put it together. As a true member of the male genotype, my brain already had the instructions pre-programmed at birth.

You get the rotary, handle, which its loop can fasten to either side depending on your preference and the bolts needed to fasten it.

With mine put together, I took the handle back off to do a comparison

Also.. the flex has a broad back.. I use it to attach sticky notes of compounds to use etc.. And it has speed ranges for the number dial:

Ok lets get a pad, some polish and go to work!

After attaching the handle, I went outside to do a quick test using my new toy since now I had a VERY VERY strong urge to polish every painted surface in a large vicinity of my house.

So I prepared my trunk (which is in bad condition.. see orange pad):

So I put on my stylish Apron I got from Detailfest a while back from Aaron and Meghan:

When using the VVB, the FLEX's balance is just superb. The machines equal weight balance means it is just so easy to balance and use, just superb. I love the trigger lock on it then you just guide it with a finger or two on the handle. The weight of the head puts enough pressure on the head so that it feels like it goes by thought and a slight touch.

Final:
What a superb machine! For $170, this machine is a STEAL. It has superb balance, quality construction, the 10A motor, and a phenomenal feel to using it, very smmoth. I would recommend this rotary to anyone. Its smooth operating and balance would be great for beginners and veterans alike.

6 out of 5 stars. I love this polisher.

Very nice review, I bet you are very happy with your selection now! And for the price you can't go wrong with that polisher. No go polish the neighborhood on up, they will be happy to see you heading their way with your detailing tools!

I wouldn't be able to decide between this unit and its lightweight sibling. I already have the Makitia

The one thing I liked about makita is it goes down to 600 rpm for spreading and,(I guess there are 2 things) it has a progressive trigger giving you, i feel more control over dewalt on/off trigger. is the flex progressive or is it on/off like dewalt? (thanks for that review its helping I'm getting closer)

That looks identical to my PC7428, I wonder if Flex makes the PC?

Portercable used to own Flex . They have since parted and that is why Portercable nolonger has a Rotary polisher.

Yes its also a progressive trigger, Its the same unit as the porter cable 7428 from what I've read Flex was selling it under the porter cable name way back when they were under Porter cable ownership.

Here are a few pics of how it compares to the Flex 3401 in terms of size. I know a few people would like to see it compared to the Flex 3403, but the 3403 and the 3401 should be about the same size.

It is a very good rotary. One I would recommend to a learner for sure.

Thanks for the review! I might have missed it when you posted it last year. Anyway, I was curious as I Love my Flex 3401. If I ever feel the need for a rotary Flex will probably get me business.

Great review! I've been dieing to get a rotary and can't decide between LK603, or a cheap harbor freight. Your review made the 169.99 sale price seem tiny for a such great machine. You probably just pushed a couple sales. :xyxthumbs:

Until seeing this pic, I had never felt my 3401 was wimpy.

Great Review. I currently use a Makita rotary but I may look into the flex if I ever have to replace it!!

Want to try another great machine is the light weight Flex rotary

Just wondering, if you were only replaced your makita when it died, then only small percentage that you're going to buy flex...:buffing:
